If you, Dr Gonzo the Oracle, say so I guess I haven't got a clue. Noticed you have put a lot of smileys on your recent posts. You must be so happy that scum bag has gone.

Not happy, not upset - just looking forward to 2018. From a pragmatic point of view I completely understand why he's been moved on. From a sentimental point of view I have a slightly nauseous feeling that we've kicked out a guy who loves the club and supporters and they love him. Go with your gut? Or head over heart? I don't know but overall I can see the reasons why the FD made this decision and they've got the runs in the board over recent years to back them in.

I understand why people are upset, they're allowed to be and need time to grieve this move. But I hope they don't try and sling mud at the club/coaches/players in the process. The decisions been made now let's back the side in.

And no I won't be booing Watts when he plays against us as you stated in your prior post.

Goodbye Jack, it's been frustration watching you play over the years. I hope you do better at Port and not get delisted after your first season like all the other ex Bailey druftys before you.

Good Luck

Why do you try to change reality.  Jack said something along the lines of 'it's taken me a long time to get up here so bear  with me' I don't recall anything about him say I'm normally in the audience getting pizzed

Quote " A lot of past years I've been sitting down there feeling a bit awkward drinking the free pizz and wishing I'd done a bit more during the year"

Also fact that Roos implored the players to chose greatness starting "tonight" and Jack came back to the club and was dropped for the pre-season games.

You can have your own reality if you really want.

So if thats the logic I'd be concermed about Lever because he had only one club after his services. And they're going to pay him a sh#tload. Seems strange to me.

Ah no - several clubs were keen on Lever and were told in no uncertain terms that he was going to Melbourne. If you supported the Demons you would know this.

This thing about club culture and the tough stance mark neeld anyone?

Neeld was a cartoon tough guy who thought it was about threats and thumping tables.

Winning matches has this incredible balming effect that tends to sort out confusion like that (*snaps fingers*)

If we win, JW will only be remembered when we play Port.

Yes we move on without JW and pick no 31 and paying some of his salary and as Mahoney had said several times he can stay. He could have told the TRUTH.... We don't want you [censored] OFF! but no, BS to the supporters. Nice to be HONEST ONCE IN YOUR LIFETIME.

Anyway JW critics got what they were after.  I hope it falls flat on GOODWINS  2 FACES ?????? BAG ME IF YOU WANT.

Ahh. I see. Fair enough. And maybe you can also accept that Jack very well may have made it clear that he was going to Port Adelaide. Last week in fact.

Remarkable isn't it.

Let's complain about the lack of success our club has had over the past eleven years...but bemoan decisions made by those knowledgeable within club, in order to become successful.

Consider yourself bagged. And hopefully shipped to Port (where the only soup you'll get there has a pie floating in it).

I wonder if the perceived 'poor' pick 31 for Jack Watts might have been influenced just a tad by Jones and significant others coming out and listing his weaknesses? Didn't make any sense to me as a wise strategy at the time. Still doesn't.

With all due respect Earl, it's now 3rd hand from an anonymous internet forum. Hardly an accurate chain of information you must agree

There has to be more to it than this. The only change in personalle between re-signing him and now, is Goodwin in a head coach position.

He must have done something, or got caught with something.

No Moons my discussion two days ago was with someone who taught Sam and spoke to him 2 weeks ago on his thoughts on JW. Doesn't mean a lot but I have some concern about the impact on the playing group so I hope a management plan is in place.

You don't think every club already knew every detail of what Jack was worth? Beggers belief that some don't realise this.

31 is exactly what he's worth. It's a gamble for PA to see if he'll improve with a change of scenery. Some do, others don't. I highly doubt Jack would've improved with us regardless of who said what to the press. He had reached his cap.

Onwards and upwards...

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
