The are many things to like about this rumour.

1. Ending up with Salem, Kelly and Tyson in the same team, swallow that purple.

2. Watching a Scott brother spontaneously combust.

3. Reminding the World of where the centre of the football universe is.

4. Best of all... probably won't happen, but will still make DB choke, the Scotts go shrill, and dominate with the list we have.

Many things to like about this .

Can't see it happen, but i like it.

Gotta say I giggle a little bit when people describe Kelly as "exactly what we need".  Are there any teams out there that don't need a player of this ilk?

I think I would speak for some on here when i say I DGAF what other teams need.

Only us.

I guess thats why people say what they do.

Some caller on SEN just called and reckons he seen them meet or similar. Reckons a back ended contract after Vince and Lewis retire.....

I can't see it happen but you never know with the new look Dee's, they're secretive.

Did the caller dress it up in a riddle?

When the Kelly thing picked up steam a month or so ago, an article said North, Saints and an unknown team were keen. I thought at the time it could be us.

That said, I don't think it is. But he is exactly what we need

Pretty sure the other team is Carlton - rumours have said they're into Kelly big time

We have more than one good player. Kelly would be the icing on a very substantial cake

And how do you propose we keep and pay all these good players if we add Kelly at $1mil+ a season?

Done!

I reckon we will get him. Will be this year and next year first rounds and a player. Who I am not sure.

Our development team and scouts seem to be on the money so maybe we get a second rounder in Return and pick up a gem.

Maybe that is why Lever is being proactive. If we get Kelly he won't get to the dees and the thought of a kennel or a seed box is not exciting.

Wishful thinking but it would be the ultimate irony if we ended up with him considering we could have drafted him in the first place. Hopefully he wont hold a grudge if he does leave the Giants.

Apart from this SEN caller, who could be anybody, there has been no indication at all that we have any interest in him.  I'd say that more than likely means we aren't chasing him, or we have decided his asking price is too high.

Either way I think he stays at GWS.  He can win a flag or two there and then come home.

Not convinced by the Kelly rumours. I think we are heavily invested in Lever and we don't have the money for both.

Kelly is a gun, but his price tag will be a bridge too far.

we start paying big $'s to get or even try to lure kelly then we will start to see our better young player holding out for more $'s too eventually which will see them poached by other teams.  We need to have a team we can afford, and we need a team that can play together, just having individuals that can play well is not as good as having a solid team.

Col Sylvia 2.0 - not fit enough

Totally different players...same type of build that is all.

Track has amazing awareness (peripheral vision), Col had none and that's what really held him back.

Carlton's the only team of those rumoured (Ess, St Kilda, North) that I'd be interested in if I was Kelly.

And surveying the other options in Victoria you've got Geelong (no cash), Richmond (minimal cash if they pay Dusty), the Hawks (no draft picks and still in flux), the Dogs (likely no cash), Coll (well...) and us - still trying to make finals and probably focusing on Lever and developing our young players.

So I'd take GWS' offer if it's 2 years at 750-800 and then become a free agent after that, with a better than even money chance of a Premiership and maybe a Brownlow as well.

I'd come back to Victoria after 2019 and be surveying the options. I've got no doubt the Dees would be selling that to him - reach free agency whilst our side builds in other areas then come in as the cherry on top.

I think he said that we would back end his contract to coincide with Lewis, Jones, Vince leaving and that "we can take it to the bank".

He believes Kelly has meet with the MFC

Time will tell.

If it were to happen, it'd be a bigger coup than Buddy to Sydney. With our history, it's our job as fans to dream. Let the players and coaching team keep their feet on the ground.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
