Played a half for Casey and seems to have impressed.   Could he play next week against the hawks or does he need another hit out in the VFL?

Gut feel after watching him today is that he's not quite ready and could do with a few more VFL minutes before stepping up.

He certainly had no noticeable issues with his mobility, or jump, or second efforts. Just probably needs a bit more match fitness, imo

Yeah match fitness maybe, but he is a stay at home full forward with plenty of experience.  If he can be plonked in the goal square for Casey next week then he can for Melbourne too (if his knee has no issues during the week).

Yep agree .... Buuuuut. Never say not!!

Kicked his 300th AFL goal. Probably an achievement that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.  But well done Benny Brown.

I think it's fair to say now that he's locked his spot in the team now going into finals. Starting to hit some good form now which is handy and really think we'll Brown play a crucial role come September. 

Played a great game last night especially early when he was giving us a target to kick too. Surprisingly was also clean in the wet conditions as well.

Found fitness and oh look he’s the same great player he’s always been. People calling his trade a disaster or saying he isn’t in our best team…. lol 

He is a gun forward. His marking is insanely good. His goal kicking is reliable (mostly) and he makes us a lot better. Also like that he’s getting involved at ground level a lot more. 

Most importantly he's got his mojo back, feeling good about himself again. 🙏🇭🇹

He’s really got back his ability to take the ball at its highest point, and he’s worked very hard on his defensive stuff and ground ball intensity.

I think it’s a big credit to our fitness staff.

Had 10 pressure acts tonight, same as Hawkins, more than TMac (8) and Cameron (5) so stacked up reasonably well in the tall forward stakes.

No question, he stays in the team now. He was good tonight. Kicked straight, provided a contest & applied pressure. How happy would he be tonight with his decision to leave nth.

He takes marks and kicks goals, that’s what I like about him.

He should have been in the team all year while fit.

3AW just did a great interview with Ben just then and talked through his change in how he played and his role and his own belief in himself.

The club seemed to believe in him more than we did and even perhaps more than he did.

Well done to the club for having a plan and executing it - he was great and is a point of difference for his going into Sept 25. When he has a run and jump at the footy he looks like he takes it 15 feet in the air.

Those hands. They’re like supersized baseball gloves coated in some kind of glorious adhesive.

A bloke who genuinely shiffed me when he played at North by the amount of frees he used to draw is now one of my favorite players.

It’s not even his goal return that I love (which has been steady, not spectacular as of late). It’s his ability to turn any delivery from CHF and deeper into a contest. He’s not a Jonno Brown bruiser by any stretch of the imagination, but he can get a hand in there or an arm in the way like few I’ve seen.

And when he is one out with the ball at eye level, he has some of the safest hands in our team.

Still needs to focus on his goal kicking accuracy though.

Nothing wrong with the long run up, just needs to not wobble the ball around too much before he kicks it. Having said that I am sure he will get plenty of goal kicking practice over the next 2 weeks.

I have a feeling BB will play his best ever game on grand final day. He probably still won't win Norm Smith because Oliver, petracca or Gawn will take that.

And to think Jeremy Cameron (who is the same age) cost Geelong Picks 13, 15 and 20 and Ben Brown just a pick in the 30's.

He is coming good at the right time.

Getting better each week. Feel he might be a key in the GF. Has kicked the first goal in both finals. 
 

10 pressure acts really showed his value. 

Brown has been crucial lately. His contested marking ability has been excellent and I've noticed how reliable his field kicking is. Our forwardline clearly functions much better when he's in the team. He's been the recruit we needed.
