Cotchin reported for what looked like a stomach punch. He is a protected species so a fine seems appropriate.

I also believe we dodged a bullet with Prestia. He's horrible.

I don't think Prestia's that exceptional or intelligent a bloke from hearing his interviews, just sounded like an ordinary kid. Most up and coming stars are well spoken and sound like they're smart enough to know what is required to set themselves apart from the pack. Prestia is happy he's overrated as he probably deep down is only happy to be on an afl list and has the potential to make a career of it.

Also has anyone noticed that Richmond fans haven't acknowledged that we would've beaten them earlier in the year if not for injuries and that they think they're a premiership hope and not still around that 5-10 mark that will never go further this year?  They've been the same team for 4 years.

Yep, noticed!

We all know the reason they won that night.

To those that follow the NHL, the last quarter in that match was like a 30 minute power play for them.

I thought his head snapped back after an elbow to the jaw. Different angle showed it better and less likely to be a dive. greenwood will be having a holiday.

The main acting today was by Maynard of Collingwood. Should get a warning for staging. Pretty ordinary effort by  bloke I don't know much about, but first impressions are average.

Geez the pressure is on if saints and eagles both win, we need to win if we don't the pressure is well and truly on and it will be tough to make finals with our injury list

Well I Said 'most' - I just got the impression that Prestia sounded chuffed to just be an AFL List earlier in the year in his first Richmond interview. And did not sound like he was determined to become a superstar. He'd probably have been out drinking with Kent, Kennedy, JKH & Spencer last week if we'd recruited him (And our mids were not injured)

Umpires giving St Kilda everything including some of the softest frees ever paid.

I'd rather the pressure on us to prove we're not run-of-the-mill with the reward of succeeding a spot in the top 4. Than hoping Richmond and Port win games against StK/WCE and we safely land in 7th or 8th.

Agree we need to do it eventually if we want to be taken seriously, I would feel a lot better if we had a full list though

That's the unfortunate caveat to this dilemma, i might be in denial about just how much we can cover our injuries over the next two weeks. Our win against WCE had me sure then we'd make the top 4 quite easily and it's a tough thing to let go of now that injuries might be pulling us back to the pack.

We all would, but it is what it is and I'm a lot more confident now than I was Thursday morning.

This game doing nothing to disprove my theory that Etihad (particularly with a closed roof) is essentially a different game than a standard AFL game.

Remember when St Kilda killed GWS under the dome and everyone raved about how they'd arrived?

Its the closest thing to Basketball that AFL will ever be.

This is where it's at, if St Kilda win:

We win tomorrow, we're top 4.

We lose tomorrow, we're out of the 8.

Pressure is well and truly on. I'm so conflicted because Richmond are the biggest pretenders ever and I would love to play against them in finals (or see them drop out of the 8) but having the Saints/Sydney/Essendon surging is a disaster if our injury list starts costing us games. We MUST win tomorrow, or we're in serious trouble.

Agree (it was attempted humour)

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
