Trac exploding here in the last couple of minutes.

This is the kind of 1st quarter that a very very good side plays when they're a touch off it. To be leading by 11 after everything Sydney's thrown at us is impressive.

Agreed.  A little luck has helped but it's the mark of a good side.

Petracca.  I love you, son.

Christ that looked like 70m!!

Sorry guys but White has been very good so far. As for the seven straight points BAD KICKING IS BAD FOOTY.

WE started poorly but we always do. DOne well in last 10.

Trac  must be GOTY

Here comes the usual late goal.  I guess they were due, though.  We've shown we can more than match it with them.

Track and Viney on fire.

Mitch White and Wagner horribly loose down back so far. Need to tighten up and not leave everything to Jetta and Hibberd!

Bless me father I did brain fade.

I am watching in silence. A protest against this banal Commentary

Amazing to think we are in front.

Bad letting that goal in on the siren. That gives them some momentum.

We need to get the first three and deflate them early second quarter.

I'd personally switch Hunt back. Look stagnant of the half back.

Buggy surely gone for 6+ stupid act and might not get a call up again this year.

Agreed we need hunt off half back

Bugg is gone for a while there lol

I am following the AFL website from Athens. Lucky we are more accurate than them inside forward fifty. Must be frustrating watching it from the "G" (especially if you are a Swans supporter)! ?

Bugg shook hands with Houli once. 1 week.

I'm looking at the BigFooty game day thread and I reckon Melbourne are possibly the most hated team going around right now. The opposition fans' tears are so delicious after years of irrelevance...

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
