ABC Radio is better than TV

That's what I'm listening to too, plus a bonus of knowing what's going to happen before it happens on the TV...

I can't bring myself to support the drug cheats.

I cant ever think of any real reason to barrack for them either.... If the swans get in  the 8, we just have to beat them, simple. We cant pick and choose who wed like to play in September.

How good would Zach Merrett look in a dees jumper!

always. but sadly doesn't sync

Business opportunity for anyone who is smart and tech savvy. Make a digital radio app whose signal you can delay to sync with your TV.

Youve just given radio stations massive increases in revenue.

Do it.

abc doesn't get revenue from advertising, of course...

i would think the opportunity is more there for the afl in the 2023-2030 rights deal, where they sell the 'coverage' direct to consumers and the viewer can pick their commentary of choice

Bizarre - it was one of the selling points when digital radio was first being introduced...

Foxtel should be allowed to do this already!

Combined total of 4.13 - is this game being played at Etihad with the aircon blowing towards goal at both ends of the ground?

(and of course a goal gets scored just after I hit submit)

Sydney kicking themselves out of this game. Umps yet to declare who they support before they put their bets on.

We know who the commentators will support......

I reckon the revenue is actually in the visual advertising inside the app itself, where you rebroadcast any content you want.

As for the 'next' broadcast deal by then there'll be multiple work arounds for the crap we are served up. Technology is driven by demand that is more conscious then the dumb supply chain we currently have.

Sydney don't seem to be moving the ball as confidently as in previous years.

Decided to turn it into a drinking game. Every time they show the bomber box with 'he who should never be seen' I'll take a shot. Should be well and truly hammered by the end of the night and tomorrow I'll have forgotten I ever saw him!

This game hasn't been great to watch skills wise. Players slipping over, missed marks and shocking kicks at goals.

Please sydney just beat them, in fact thrash them. Yes I know that means sydney will be 1 game behind us but cant seeing the bummers win. especially smug daniher who thinks he is walking on air. What is it about him that makes you want to slap him in the face?

These players have just been given a pay rise due to the new agreement but seriously start kicking the goals.

also it worries me Buddy hasnt got into the game yet. If he has a quiet tonight then he will be fired up for  abig one next week.

Amazing inaccuracy by both teams on what is a still night.

The commentary is seriously annoying me. To state the obvious why do they have to tell me what I can see for myself.

Gentle understatement rising to the crescendo when deserved is the way to go. AFL is fun but it doesn't need or merit pubescent shouting at every stage.

Just watched a few minutes mid 3rd Q - are Essundone coached by Ian Meckiff?  Got away with three or four throws inside a minute.

Both teams playing average... Swans will love having turned it into a slugfest.

Be interesting next week.

A cowpat would look good in a Melbourne jumper!

But on Merret, it's amazing that this day in age, with the investments by clubs in recruiting and junior development, that a player of that quality can slide so far in a draft.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
