Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Round 12: Non-MFC games

who have they played no one.

Exactly, very favorable draw due to 2016 ladder position and have beaten up on very ordinary teams for the first half of the season.

They're enjoying another false sense of accomplishment, as they did in 2014. Their list is very ordinary once you get past Ryder, Wines and Gray. Wingard epitomises their downhill skiing mentality.

When you watch these other games you start to realise how much ground we have made up in the past 24 months. Our best footy is up there with some of the better sides.

Port are not the juggernaut their percentage suggests.

Did you see at the start of the game where the ex bomber players with there kids as part of the James Turd academy? Wonder what that academy involves. Hopefully no needles.

Well it would be great if melbourne came out on monday and started the game like that. I think port were doomed from the start when there stupid cheersquad didnt have the banner ready and port had to wait. How does that happen by the way? Maybe they were still on sa time 1/2 hr behind.

But this weekend has been strange. Port getting thrashed, freo getting , sydney doing it easily against the dogs. The way things are going Carlton are a chance to upset gws tomorrow.

By the looks of the ladder just then, if we beat the Pies by 80 odd points, we should go past Port and end up in 5th position.

Let's just focus on beating them, forget the percentage.

There were identical posts before the Fremantle, Hawthorn and North Melbourne games and look what happened.

I really hate the way Goddard screams at his teammates. It's totally unnecessary, reeks of self preservation, and displays why he'll never be a leader.

If I played alongside him i'd tell him to pull his neck in (and he'd probably yell back at me 'What the [censored] are you doing out here! You're an overweight 39 year old with no left foot who only runs one way').

To be fair, I don't think it was the focus of Demonland posts that caused those results.

True, I just feel it's just a mindset thing. After so many years of mediocrity, just securing that W is gold.

Like Roosy used to say, the percentage looks after itself (and fortunately ours is quite healthy with all those close losses).

Yep - it's not possible for Port to lose by enough to get their % down near ours unfortunately, already did the calc.  Such a topsy turvey team, they don't look good enough to have dealt out massive beltings.

I was thinking more about Essdrug %. Really don't want them up near us on 110....or similar..

For some reason I thought when I looked before we were a game clear, but no.  So yeah, their % is probably more relevant.

the bummers will move into the 8. I cannot stress the importance of how important the win on monday is. Players are u listening?

For what it's worth, on current score, Essendon will finish the round outside the 8 regardless of who wins out of us and Collingwood (unless it's a draw).  If they kick another goal, only an MFC win will keep them out.

Unfortunately Essendon have an advantage over us in the race for a finals campaign: they were gifted an easier draw after artificially finishing dead last in 2016.

That means more games against against crap opposition, more opportunities for percentage boosters and in such an even season that's critical.

They might have an easy run home, but we were gifted an easy run for the first half of the season. We didn't even have to leave Melbourne for the first two months. The fact we weren't able to capitalise on our easy first half draw is disappointing as we should be well entrenched in the 8 now.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
