Erm,

Melbourne v Collingwood at the MCG

MELBOURNE
In: J.Spencer, J.Kennedy-Harris, C.Salem
Out: -

Thought Spencil was not going to be in - and glad that JKH gets another run (hasn't shown anything at AFL level, but I seem to have a spot for him in the cockle of my heart)...

I don't get it.

Goody said Spencer wont play, so why is he named?

JKH is not up to it ..... so why is he named?

Salem in for ...... ??

Have a feeling Salem for Wagner, JKH got 47 possesions in the VFL, hard to ignore that.

Stretch can't get a look in. Not worthy of at least a spot on the extended bench?

Salem: clearly best 22 returns from suspension

Spencer: only ruckman, not competing with smalls for selection

JKH: rewarded for 47 touch VFL game

Stretch will be fine, and will get his chance again. Patience.

JKH is the emergency...

Salem in for ?? (looks like Wagner)

Spencer... we'll know at 2pm Saturday if he runs out for Casey ....... unless of course there is something more about Jack W's ankle ??

I'm guessing it all depends on the Saturday morning session with Watts.

Obviously it can't be ignored, but I would much prefer to see him do it on a more regular basis before coming back in. He always seems to come back into the team off the back of only 1 good performance

Hmmm...odd one. Can't see Wagner being omitted as others have suggested but I can't think of an another out for Salem so maybe!

Wagner looks visibly dejected at training. I'd say its him.  To bitter and optimistic, ill take a 47 disposal in the VFL JKH over Bugg no question.

He may be, id say Bugg though and he will play forward. Salem for Wagner.

47 touches against Coburg. Bugg offers more at AFL level than JKH.

Like what? Being a pest and missing easy shots at goal. At least give a guy who's had a brilliant VFL game another shot.

Coburg are horrible. Let JKH show consistent form in the VFL against decent to good teams first before rewarding him after one good game against the cellar dwellers.

Buggs stats at AFL level are much better than JKH's. Plus JKH has twice the amount of clangers.

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
