Hoping Hore's collarbone didn't keep him out too long, we could get a month to end the season with this 6 playing together

Which would be fabulous prep for 2020 and getting them all to start gelling together as teammates. 4 of that back 6 could play tall or small also. Could be exciting IF the footy gods smile on us, because 2019 is a clear example of what happens when they don’t!

after watching our tall backs last few years, he has them convered in every department. very quick, very good one on one, good reader of the play and organises the defence.

Hope to see May, Lever, Hibberd and Frost in for the rest of the year and see how that develops.

As much as I’d like to see Salem on a HBF, with the likes of May, Lever, Hore and Hibberd all being better than average kicks, we really need his class and disposal being used to deliver it into the forward line.

IMO Hore is an average kick. Does best when he's not under any pressure

I think he has got better as he had adjusted within the team - what he lacks (and he can build) is penetration on his field kicks... and yes the goal he kicked (I was standing behind those goal posts) was a ripper, I was stoked for hi.

There does seem a lot to look forward to.Petty has also progressed well since his less than ideal debut, If he keeps improving he should become a regular member of our backline in the future.

I hope not, if he is a regular without a drastic improvement we will be struggling. He also doesn't fit into our backline with our regular team available.

If we have Lever, May, Jetta and Frost all in the team we need some running half backs playing, not another slowish tall player who can't break the game open with his kicking.

Frost 2 the wing.

Hore does make a ton of mistakes both at ground level and turning the ball over via foot.

Has been impressive in his first year but I wouldn’t have as automatic best 22 next year.

Yes, the intercept marks are impressive, but I think a lot of casual watchers overlook a fair few flaws in his game. I think in time he’ll be able to work on them and get better, but he’s far from the finished article.

Thank you  Steven May what an effort in 2020, runner up to Tracc for the B&F, you are exactly what Dee's need down back, your efforts and skill have really stiffened up our back line and have surpassed our expectations in a really nice way. We no longer leak those easy heartbreaking goals that cost games. Your family must be very proud of you as are us Demon supporters.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Anzac eve game without him will be a big loss

if he requires the 12 days out, then he qualifies for ANZAC eve by a day.

Concussion is not the issue. It’s likely a broken cheek and/or sunken eye socket. He’ll be out for a while I think unfortunately.

yeah, didn't find that out until halfway out the G. On the train now, happy with the win but hoping for as quick a recovery as possible for May.

That being said, i thought Tomlinson played pretty well when he got moved on to Hawkins. Petty's chance to step-up and show us his wares.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
