Great thought LH, that could confuse and unsettle them whilst spreading the load on our guys.

I liked Nashers idea of quarter by quarter designated ruck, but this allows guys to also do their roles, as mentioned

Just mix it up.

Make it so they're as required to think on their feet instead of set/trained setups as we'll be.

Just locks the ball up more. All things equal they ought to tire before us.

IF he can hit his best form, and IF he runs with Daniher all day, then he will have to do some ruck work.

Daniher always seems to play well on McDonald and against us. He is in some good form too, so that doesn't help.

It doesn't help that TMAC is having a somewhat average year too.

JKH... 9 disposals. 4 fumbles. 3 turnovers. OMG. Retained.

Stretch. 19 possessions. Run and carry. 5 inside 50s. Dropped.

Goodwin must be concussed.

JKH better perform !!

Yep agree but notwithstanding that other than Max and Jessie and maybe Kent, I reckon this is the best team we have put on the park.!!

I reckon a "Shock win" is definately on  the cards! I say Shock because we have been expected to win our last three games and havent!

So I'll take a "Shock" win anyday!!

Anything to even up our ledger this season. Would still keep the season alive

Well If Daniher has a Mc Donald for breakfast and Mc Donald for lunch maybe he will have Lower gut reactions and play Shizennnnnnn!

I don't like today's changes. Both Stretch and Harmes deserve their spot imo.

But hey, whatvever, I'm happy to go with it. Maybe Goodwin is just rotating some of our 15th to 22nd best players to get some fresh legs off the short break.

Well, Dees need to draw a line in the sand and what more apt ground than Etihad !!

Id run it across half back. Stop the ball before it and starve Joe and his mutts.

As badly as the Filth played they nearly did it. A crack opened and Dons won, thats all.

7 TACKLES. How do people not get it yet?

I'm not a fan at all to be honest. His tackles are more of jumper grabs of u14 footy rather than killing the play and burying an opponent.

I fail really to see what he brings

Did you watch the game or just look at the stats? He was atrocious Monday night. His lack of possessions and disposal efficiency were the main two reasons. But he also got pushed off the ball far too easily and he's not as quick as some may think.

If he had a blinder in the VFL the week before it may be warranted but he didn't. He needs more time in the seconds to get his game sense and match fitness (including pace) back up to scratch.

I've seen enough of Billy Stretch this year and heard enough about his work ethic to know that at some point in the future, we'll all be sitting here tapping away writing nice things about him in the "BILLY STRETCH - 200 GAMES" thread on Demonland.  Clarry Oliver said earlier in the year that McCartney attached him to Billy as one of the shining examples of elite training habits - that is a massive thumbs up for Billy in my view.

But right now he's a 20 year old midfielder who has played 32 games.  He's not going to be able to maintain AFL level intensity all of the time at this stage.  He faded in the Richmond game and has a 4.5 day break.  This is going to be a game where it is truly all hands on deck.  Nobody with question marks over their ability to run out games should be in this one.

I don't have any issue with not punishing young bodies and I'm very sure he'll be back in the side long before round 10.

That bad, I was hoping to get a good view on our zones and stuff bit hard to see that sort of stuff at the MCG sitting on bottom deck on wing

My experience is that the view from the heavens there is pretty good.  Sat right near the back on level 3 at a neutral game I went to once and found I had a very clear picture of what was going on.

I actually like an elevated distance view in general for that reason.

At the Tiges game I was near the balcony of level 4. It's been a long time since I've sat that high. I usually sit level 1 and occasionally 2 or 3 if I organise my MCC guest passes.

I thought it was quite enjoyable for a change, and yes you'll be able to make out the structures. Try your best to get as close to the rail as you can without impending your view. With that said I think I'll still stick to level 1 in future,  but I'll probably do it from time to time for a change. Just keep away from the far back or you'll feel you're watching ants ;)

So I have decided to go to the game, got a mate who is bombers so going with him so just got general admission so I guess I'm on level 3, never been up that high is it a good view

Out of interest, how much for a GA cheap ticket? Still deciding whether to watch at pub or go to the ground

I think Stretch and Harmes just couldn't get up after the Richmond game. Would be interesting to see the time spent on each ground for each player. Playing two down in the wet may have taken a heavy toll on them. Doubt they were dropped based on form.

Fresh legs makes sense even just for a week.

Jkh should buy a lottery ticket though....

A tackle actually means you are second to the ball!! I see him as a poor mans Isaac Weetra!

Yea I thought I would do it for a change, I still like sitting level 1 but for $55 to sit with mostly feral bombers will take my chances in the rafters

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
