Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Agree. TMac to the ruck looking more solid now. Going to need both Pedersen and Watts forward as much as possible.

Would also consider Weideman if he's fit.

We are not that hard up Nasher.

You are jesting CB?

You and I have more influence from the other side of the fence.

Who else will play at full forward with Smith injured, Hogan not playing and Watts most likely having to play a lot in the ruck?

Keilty At least he will keep a defender busy worrying about what he might do. They know the Weid wont hurt them.

do we simply have to lower the heightboard a tad here and go with an overall smaller but 'quicker' forward line

Bring Kent in.

We have to get inventive now

As any team prepares to do battle they invariably study the opposition and consider likely scenarios or who plays...and where. They'll then consider various setups to counter.  Indeed often the training prior to a particular game may emphasise certain  'plays' etc . This or that player is poorer left or right...Counter theyre preference to run here or there..watch for these guys linking  etc etc on and on..

An old ploy and one thats now thrust upon us is to possibly field line ups etc which they simply wont be looking for. It doesnt necessarily mean  you gain much but it might create ( for a while ) some mismatches. Yes some is given away at team announcements, but now that we're dropping like flies Id like to see us throw a little caution to the wind and be daring.

In: Pedersen, Lewis, Bugg, Weideman

Out: Smith, Spencer, Hogan, JKH

Bugg rewarded for form and takes the spot of Kennedy-Harris, while Kent was apparently quiet at Casey and doesn't get rewarded for being quiet in the VFL.

They could bring in Oscar instead of Weideman and switch Tom to the forward-line.

Have the athletic Frost take Daniher (when he goes forward), who has always torn Tom a new one.

They just have to get creative, lower the eyes, spread the forward-line and pick out holes.  If we can win the midfield battle we can still win this game.

In reality, I have no idea how selections will go this week.

Sometimes you have to put the hard word on people to perform to their ability...not always simply about reward.

This is one week I truly have no idea how the selections will go. I don't think they will make any further changes beyond the forced changes as they could be as many as 4. Smith & Spencer are certainly out, Petracca will be touch and go, and I would expect Jesse to have the week off to be with family.

With what has happened with Jesse, Pederson has to be a certainty to come in with Spencer out as well.

It's going to be interesting selection.  Hogan out brings Keilty or Weed into the frame.

It would be good to hear from track watchers who is training in the ruck.

Lewis has to come in and I expect that both Hibberd and Melksham will play against their old club.

With 3 talls forced out I'd like to see 3 talls come in, especially when whoever rucks will play less game-time than Gawn or Spencer would have.

If TMac or Frost are to ruck then I think Omac comes in.

We could go with a Watts, Pedersen, Keilty combo and leave the backline intact.

Like your ins but suspect that JKH will be retained. Despite his form at Casey, Kent is tougher and more dangerous than JKH.  See that Weideman replaces Hogan providing height up forward.

There is no way Kent will come in. Plapp's report might as well have said "he stunk". For whatever reason he is off the boil at the moment. I'd forget about him for the time being.

Kent is capable of tearing a VFL game apart. I'd expect the Plapp reports to at least indicated he did most things right before seeing him picked.

Now that now I've been so confident about it, no doubt it'll be in: Kent, because as others have said I actually have NFI.

Would not surprise me if Hannan gets called up on the basis of our need for fresh legs and pace.

Would prefer him to the Weid we know he can do the occasional good thing.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
