I am nothing if not very unkind bitter, fair to say old mav possesses one of the rougher lids going around. 

That was a great 2nd half, so much better than the 1st. Although dogs have a few injuries. Cloke didn't look to good with his ribs. But it was sort of funny to see Thomas miss on the siren. 

Swans doing exactly as they did with Smith Hannaberry Jack Johnson & Reid  in 2010/11. They will be strong again pretty quickly with the same brand of footy 

swans are a football factory.

they pick up kids who were 'solid' at underage level and develop them to (near) perfection.

Called it tonight after a bit of text banter with a mate that the Dogs won't make the  top 8 this year.

Other clubs either have them worked out or have adopted a similar game style.

They have some stars but don't have the depth of quality to adapt and go back-to-back.

That "third man up" decision was an absolute farce -- is there some protocol by which the nominee must notify the maggot?  And surely there must be nomination well before the boundary umpire throws it in.

Another farcical "decision" by the knee jerkers in AFL HQ.

It was bad, real bad.

In the US they would have looked up at the video, but not here, the umps refuse to look up at the video as they don't want to admit a mistake and change their decision. Better to be wrong than admit a mistake and do the right thing.

It's all well and good to froth over Sydney, but they've had ridiculous access to talent with their northern academy. Heeney and Mills would both be Demons if they weren't tied to those zones as we nominated both players in each draft.

Personally, I hold very little admiration for them. As we all know, the AFL can't afford them to slip down the table for too long, so they're granted every wish.

This doesn't guarantee success (as we've seen with GCS), but it does give them a bloody good head start on the rest of the competition.

I just have to say this.  That was some of the most one-sided umpiring I have ever seen today.  As a neutral observer, I couldn't believe how bad the bias was.  North had 21 players on the ground and still couldn't get the win.

I realise the issue of clash jumpers has been done to death.  But, I was just a tad bemused to see what the two teams were wearing yesterday.  It was North's home game, and yet they didn't wear their traditional colours (which are predominantly white, with blue stripes).  Instead, they wore that predominantly blue scheme that they have used on occasions in recent times.  But, why?  had they worn their traditional colour scheme, would have meant they didn't clash with the Doggies' traditional colour scheme.  as it was, the Doggies had to wear their clash jumper so they didn't clash with North's colours!  If I was a Doggies' fan, I'd be fuming...!  All just a bit strange!!

Lindsay Thomas cost them the game with his kick that landed on the chest of Johannisen.  Should have put it to the top of the square.  North are 0-4 and I don't think any AFL fan will feel sorry for them.

I'm not usually a brad Scott fan but his press conference was all class I thought having a young bloke sitting beside him who has had a tough start to life puts a bit of perspective on things, was good to see 

Would North be 2 - 2 with Boomer in the team?

The predominately blue has been their home jumper for awhile now. They adopted the same home/away layout as Collingwood for their jumpers.

Is that right?  Wasn't aware of that.  Why would any club want to move away from their traditional jumper?  (You can imagine the outrage if Melb did that!  LOL)

I know it's early, but a Port loss here could be handy for us. And a big loss for Essendon tonight could see us back in the 8. :D
