- Tim Sheehan is reporting that Lever has told his teammates that he has committed to the Dees on big $$$ for 2018

Am going to giggle when this falls over - you'd think he (Lever) would wait until the Crows were out before making any decisions - and especially because don't the AFL rules say you can't commit until a certain date

Sorry I cbf looking that date up - its around October when the players contracts expire.

That is old news, tell him to stop reading Demonland and come up with his own rumors.

sigh...is it done yet, or what....

Tonight showed how good a signing lever would be! He was the general down back and rose for the big game.

Pick 10 & 27 for Lever & 35 would be likely.

Or

2018 First Round Pick for Lever.

Mike Sheahans son isn't it? Tony Sheahan

Watching him live he was impressive. Mind u the Giants were porridge.

The Woods have more bargaining power than us as they have pick 6 and possible hand over of Scharenberg who is an Adelaide boy. Waldron on SEN keeps insisting that Lever is going to the Woods,

RE Stringer, he has the sads as the coach told him some home truths at their end of season interview. Luke is not one to let some of Stringers behaviours go without comment. Wallis confirmed as much on radio this morning. If Stringer isn't prpeared to buy in them he will be seeking a new home. And no I wouldn't want him at Melbourne

It just became a 1st and 2nd rounder with no sweetener back from Adelaide.

It always was.

Lever will decide where he goes. He doesn't have a contract.

North have more bargaining power than both us and Collingwood but it's irrelevant

I wonder with the crows now losing  Brodie smith to an ACL that they'll be less inclined to part ways with lever ?? Might cost us more now to trade

At 22, some of his defensive plays are insane.

Some of his spoils last night went as far as 30 metres.

And his composure with ball in hand is super impressive.

I don't care what we give up, he is going to be the best defender in the comp within a few years.

Yeah you're right.

When players nominate clubs they always seem to get there for a bit less than market value, so I was holding out hope it might not be much more than pick 10.

A 1st and 2nd Rounder for him now is a win for Melbourne.

Another final or two like that and we'll be looking at two 1st Rounders.

If we askee nicely would they put him on ice?

And if it wasn't for the Richmond doctor he would already be in red and blue.

Do you like him.?

What is your opinion, do you think we should try and get him?

Do you think he would be in our best 22?

Do you think we could let Garland go if we got Lever?

Do you think he would wear number 6 if he came to us?

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
