The club seems to have abandoned the #myheartbeatstrue hashtag in favour of the new #raisehell slogan on its social media accounts.

Whaddya reckon?

Obviously it'sĀ fiercer, but it's an interesting strategy to move away from the link with the theme song, and something with which people are already familiar and isĀ ingrained and habitual.Ā

Given that most people use several hashtags anyway when posting on Insta or Twitter, I guess the obvious question is "porque no losĀ dos" - why not both?

Ā

I liked #myheartbeatstrue. Holds a bit more sentimental value IĀ guess.Ā #raisehell is short and sharp though, IĀ like it.Ā

I like it. Fiercer is definitely the right word. #raisehell is evocative and powerful. I read #myheartbeatstrue asĀ linked more toĀ loyalty. That's not to say the club no longer values loyalty, but I think we want to become a fierce and feared football club. Don't all AFL clubs?

I'd love to see 'raisehell' on our membership bumper stickers!

I like it. FinallyĀ we renounce Mamby Pambyism for good I hope.Ā Sorry mums if it frightens the kids.

Yep raisehell is the go, my heart beats true is too nice, I don't want us to be a nice football club anymore I want us to be ruthless in everything we doĀ

#Raisehell is a better #hashtag because it’s #shorter (and no, people do not read many #books these days).

I like it.

We went from the Fuschias to the Demons and #raisehell follows the sentiments behind thatĀ change.

Obviously a Boston Legal fan

It's good to see the club add these little touches to embrace the Demon side of the equation, e,.g "Hell's Bells", #raisehell

It's fineĀ to brand around ties to the city,Ā but we have the most badass moniker in the league. Embrace it I say.

Ā

I love it, #raisehell

far better than #theyknowwe'recoming

#heartbeatstrue was fitting when we were rubbish and loyalty (or insanity) was the only reason to follow. #raisehell certainly fits with where we are and what we want represent. I love it.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
