also, has it been thought at all that we should just have a single board, not separated out into men's and women's teams?

things like jumper sponsor, essendon, etc. get discussed on what is more or less the 'main board' - don't see why it's not just a 'main' board rather than having women separated out from the men's football discussion.

That was frightening yet amazing. We're still in it, just need Crows to lose again next week and we need to demolish Freo to boost %

I believe there is a clause that allows this in such situations.

Go Dees! Never in doubt ;)

thank god we squeaked thru.

what do we need to have happen to make the gf - a win and a loss for the crows?

Those last 2 goals could cost us in percentage terms. The second to last goal shouldn't have happened. The umps should have called a stoppage well before the Adelaide player put a boot on the loose ball that somehow exited the pack.

Yep, it's "Us win, Crows lose, and we're into a grand final".

Meanwhile, the Crows have been getting a golden run from the umpires all season, it's actually starting to look suspicious.

Anyway, Fremantle at Casey next week. Win that and we get to cheer for Collingwood on sunday, thankfully knowing that it'll do no good for them anyway.

We're like 50% behind the crows or something so I doubt a goal or two is gonna fix things. We have to win and they have to lose....full stop.  Fingers crossed.

wow that Newman goal in the end was fantastic. That gws game may have cost us big time. So next week we have to beat freo and unfortunately barrack for the pies.

But at least it's good to see a melbourne team win in darwin

Also why was this game put on 7mate instead of the main ch7 channel here in melbourne?

With reference to Philip K, Dick's  'Do androids dream of electric sheep?' Your top end footy correspondent reporting from post-apocalyptic Marrara. Was at the game with my teenage daughter this evening, great turnout by the local community. A most impressive win by the Demon girls in oppressive conditions, With a big tropical storm brewing in the background with some distant flashes of lightning. Superior teamwork and defense in the second half were the key factors in the result over the Adelaide Crowbots. The late flurry of goals added a piquant of excitement to the final climax of the game. My daughter's knowledge of the AFLW rules, 15 minute quarters with time on added on was a calming influence!

My best players in no particular order were Daisy Pearce, Karen Paxman, Rocky Cranston, Laura Duryea, and special mention Aleisha Newman, best goal cameo at this ground since Liam Jarrah.

The skill level of the women's game can be variable but I was most impressed  with the courage, resilience and determination shown by this Melbourne Football Club team.

ps. There were some very good chest marks taken.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
