Anyone know on which dateย the club's own injury list get published?

Here it is and not surprisingly, it differs from the one on the afl.com.au site (that is not to suggest the following is accurate):-

Melbourne injury list: round one

Sam Frost (toe) โ€“ test
Colin Garland (knee) โ€“ season
Michael Hibberd (Achilles) โ€“ 2-3 weeks
Liam Hulett (hip) โ€“ 3-4 weeks
Jay Kennedy-Harris (arm) โ€“ 2-3 weeks
Mitch King (knee) โ€“ 5 weeks
Aaron vandenBerg (heel) โ€“ 4-6 weeks
Josh Wagner (fibula) โ€“ 2-3 weeks
Mitch White (ankle) โ€“ 2-3 weeks

ย

ย

Of that list above, you could argue that Frost, Hibberd and AVB are in the best 22, while the others are on the outside looking in. ย It's a longer injury list than we'd like, but we're not missing too many crucial players, so we can't complain too much. ย And of those crucial players, Frost should be back very soon and Hibberd is hopefully back within a month.

Rumours St Kilda have anotherย player out with injury too...,guess we'll find out soon

ย

Jkh is hurt more often than he isn't. Poor guy just can't stay on the park.

McCartin was mentioned (on 3AW?) as a possible late withdrawal.

So how long does a (Im assuming it was dislocated) shoulder take to come good? 4-2-6??

Mentioned on 3AW yesterday that the standard time out for this type of injury is 12 weeks ...... not great

We seem to be suffering an injury curse this year. Luckily not to key players but it will test us if a few more go down.

The absence of another player on our list due to the Lumumba saga may yet become a factor

Has it been confirmed yet if its a break or a dislocation? Would have had scans by now.....? I wouldnt have thought it would be a break from the way he went down......but who knows.

I spoke with one of the staff behind the coaches box at three qtr time, he said they were waiting scan but could be 4-12 weeks.

The rest of the headline says Hogan's OK.

OK?ย  he's fantastic!

10 players unavailable this week... and its only round 2 !!!ย ย  thank goodness for 45ย on the full list including rookies.

Vince 1 wk susp

Garland season

Smith 12 weeksย

JKH 4-5 weeks

King 5 weeks

Vandenburg 5 weeks

Wagner 2 weeks

White 2 weeks

Hulett 2 weeks

Hibberd 2 weeks

Four months ... and that means he goes back to the rookie list at least until he recovers.

Does he? Wouldn't it be the LTI list as he was elevated to the senior list.ย

Then another rookie may get elevated if the club sees the benefit, and we have cap space.

If Frosty is fit does he come in for Smith? Our backline stocks have taken a hammering already.

This week's injury list is out -ย

Smith, Garland undergo surgery

Melbourne injury list: round two

Sam Frost (toe) โ€“ available
Colin Garland (knee) โ€“ season
Max Gawn (back) โ€“ available
Jay Kennedy-Harris (arm) โ€“ 1 week
Mitch King (knee) โ€“ 4 weeks
Michael Hibberd (Achilles) โ€“ 2 weeks
Liam Hulett (hip flexor) โ€“ 2 weeks
Joel Smith (shoulder) โ€“ 3-4 months
Aaron vandenBerg (heel) โ€“ 6 weeks
Josh Wagner (fibula) โ€“ available

Whilst both Sam Frost and Josh Wagner are available and expected to play games this weekend, I think it's fair to say they are most likely to be seen in action at Casey Fields on Saturday and not the MCG on Sunday.

Nice to see JKH just a week off...speedy recovery. Hopefully he'll be able to makeย his mark at Casey soon and put himself in the frame for selection.

Frost and Wagner both available, ย thats great timing and a big boost for us.

If you take out the available players, we only have 7 who are injured, JKH is only a week away while Hibberd is just two weeks away. ย That's not too bad all things considered.

I agree and the most important aspect is that none of those currently injured are first ten picked.ย

I do worry for Hibberd though. He has the ability to wander into the "automatically pickedย each week" category and at his best could make a real positive difference to the side. However hisย achilles injury coupled withย spending a year out of the game and I wouldn't be completely surprised to not see him in Melbourne colours till after the bye.ย

Mitch White was down as 2 - 3 weeks in the previous list but now no longer noted. Has he recovered or just been forgotten?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
