We could have another Greg Williams or Sam  Mitchell with Clarrie.

I can't believe the quickness of his reflexes, and the awareness of his team mates' whereabouts.

He can take a mark and kick well too, but those creative hand passes in close or at a distance are the hallmark.

We've gone for years without genuine stars.

We might have four by 2018. Oliver ,Hunt, Hogan and Petracca.

Could Frost be up there, too?,and wouldn't it be great if Weideman develops as hoped.

For decades we've had to worry about opposition stars. Soon they'll have to worry about ours.

( like '94 when we had Jako, Stinga, Lyon, Schwarta and Charles)

By the way, most sides would love to have Tommy Mac back there, and I have high hopes for Oscar.

It's getting very exciting.

You forgot, Lampril, Hilton and Prymke...

I thought Jeff Hilton was potentially a genuine star.

were there issues?

Paul Prympke was a really good negative CHB,dogged by injury.

Andy Lamprill won one game with a great mark, but I don't think he was a star!

Not happy with all of the rave reviews about Clarry and Petracca. Nothing good will come of the media jizzing.

They need to do it week in week out.

This. Prymke was very good, when he played.

I just put $10 on Clayton for the Brownlow @ $67

I threw $20 on him at that price too. He won't win, but I'll be cashing out once his odds tumble now that he's getting some media recognition.

This kid is an absolute star. A teenager with 19 games under his belt and he's already one of the best inside mids in the league!

Good bet. Oliver isn't slowing down. I think he is that good that he could win it. Not sure we'll win as many games as Adelaide in the run home though. So given that Sloane is probably in front of Oliver atm, I think Oliver would do well with a top 3 finish. But anything can happen. Sloane may get injured, tagged heavily, or we may win more games than anticipated.

Forgive my ignorance. What do you mean, you'll be cashing out once his odds tumble?

The Media stuff us just part of the journey , you've got to learn to deal with that stuff to be a good team as well. It was always going to come once we got some decent players.

I got him at 500-1for the brownlow after the WC JLT game and 50-1 most votes for Melbourne.

That's looking to be an excellent bet, well done.

Silly old Biffo stated he would win a Brownlow very early on.

I hope somebody got the 500 to 1 .

Having said that , he has a temper on him and may get rubbed out during the journey.

will be interesting to see how Oliver will handle all the hype although he does seem to have the perfect country-boy chilled out attitude

who do the Hawks even have the midfield to get near him at stoppages? they are the worst contested team in the league (at a guess) and have few big bodied mids if any?

40+ touches coming up

Wouldn't have contributed much less to our team's progress

The betting apps offer a 'cash out' option most of the time these days. So if you place a bet at say $10 odds, then the odds come in for whatever reason, e.g. 4 of your 5 teams win in your multi, or in our case Oliver continuing his good form so his odds drop, you have the option to cash out at the rate offered instead of waiting for the bet to end. Oliver has already come from $67 to $51 since that article was published. If he keeps this form going and comes in to say $15 I will be able to cash out and make a profit without waiting for the Brownlow to happen. I did the same thing with Gawn last year and made a few bucks.

Oliver's in tremendous form, but I don't think he'll win the Brownlow. Maybe in a few years when umpires recognise him more and stop pinging him for throws. Tremendous young talent and so happy to see him stepping up at such a young age. Hopefully his teammates in Petracca, Brayshaw, Hunt, Hogan etc can all find similar consistency and impact as they are also very talented footballers.

Lewis & Mitchell will tear us up, oh wait, that's right, Vickery & O'Meara. We've got this.

What's impressive is that despite gawn being out, getting smashed in the hit outs and increased attention he is not slowing down.

If you could pick between Oliver, Bont, Cripps and heeney who would you take??

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
