Hibberd looks the part for someone who hasn't played in 18 months.

Haven't seen much of Johnstone yet.

He's been adapting for 12 months

Which is nothing in the scheme of things when you sit it next to Barrassi's 5 year plan

I have waited for the day that Melbourne players would get the ball, know exactly what they are meant to do next and be able to execute quickly and cleanly. We just look very even with everyone knowing what to do. Our ball movement out of deep 50 needs work (please move Vince up the ground) but otherwise looking good.

Im calling it now.

Spencer and Weideman as lock ins for round one.

Weed works so hard and is very smart, a perfect foil for Hoges.

Spencer is in good form and allows Gawn more time in the forward line.

Both make us a better side, much more balanced and dangerous.

I'm pleased for Spencer but I'm not sold on having two rucks against the Aints at Etihad, round 1.

Loving Oliver, Hogan and Salem.

Not loving Tom McDonald. Give his brother the ball.

Hibberd can have Melksham's spot.

Disagree, Spencer hasn't taken a mark hasn't troubled the scorers and only had 6 hitouts. All of Watts Frost and Pederson are better choices

Tom McDonald has been one of our best.  No errors, no turnovers & he has beaten his man.  Is giving us good drive out of defence as well.

He's made the dumbest decisions with the ball he could make.

Missed Hibberd in an acre of space which resulted in a turnover.

Can't believe the size of this crowd!  It's 4 times bigger than a large VFL crowd.

Still managed to find the E&B roll stand

Tom kicked the ball out in front of Hibberd and Hibberd then transgressed the rules

Instead of diving at the footy Hibberd should have taken out the Carlton player with a hip and shoulder and then gathered the ball.

Melksham with good moments in the third quarter so far.

Max Gawn kicks his second.

Petracca is going to be a headache for opposition sides. Hard match up. Going to be some player. Last week he out bodied Marcus Adams, this week he is pin pointing blokes and moving like Jayden Hunt. What a hard match up.

We are controlling just about everything. OMac has done some good things.

Meanwhile, Jesse kicks his third.

Are the blue naggers missing a heap of players?

Wowee looks like a training run for us. The pressure we are putting on is exceptional.

In saying that our skills will cost us a couple of games this year.

Are we that much better? Or are Carlscum absolutely disgusting???

Considering one of their goals came from a freakish boundary shot (from a young rookie), and now the umps just gifted Cunningham a goal (why I do not know). Carlton should only be 2-3 goals.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
