Umps rule of the week, Hawks blocking off the mark.

Free kick Hawthorn

But the Dogs have kicked themselves out of the contest.  No way they can get back from here.

And of course the MRP will ignore Breust's high contact in a marking contest.  Chose to bump, eyes off the ball.  Head high.   Nothing to answer.  Dirty mongrels.

And just like that the Dogs are back in it ... game on!

Go Dogs!

If I hear Bruce growl, "the old Firm, eh", again, I'll 'release' from every orifice.

Wouldn't like to be down wind of you

What a hero Crameri is!

Kinda gives you a scary insight into how the Essendon players will be welcomed back by Channel 7 next year.

It has taken a while for the Doggies to settle, but when they do, boy they play entertaining footy. Their mass tackling, chains of handballs, and risk taking is breath-taking. And Bontempelli - his awareness round a pack and ability to find a way through with enough time to produce an elite kick; he is becoming the kind of footballer I would pay to go and see even if the Dees not playing.

But is still goong to be very difficult to beat Hawthorn from here.

Looks like Hawks are tiring late in quarters and doggies get a bit of a  run.

Should be a fascinating end!

Yep, chose to leave the ground and his shoulder made contact with Picken's head.

What does he do.............stays down on the ground feigning injury so as to either not give away a free kick, or was scared he may be remonstrated against. SOFT.

Of these two teams, win or lose  the Dogs are the future.

The Bulldogs drafting and development is by far the best in the AFL.

Totally agree. We have the airbrushing by the AFL and media of the doping scandal.  These guys should not be welcomed back as heroes.

I don't think I've ever been to invested in the outcome of a match where I'm a neutral. Come on Doggies!!!

Unfortunately Stevic is worth another 3 goals to Hawthorn with his dodgy umpiring, just you wait and see.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
