Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We backed our culture a few years ago to get Jeffy, not sure why we wouldn't back it now when it's even stronger....

What do you mean by that statement, he and Robinson made one mistake and were punished for it, it didn't help that both were frozen out of the club at the time

I mean that the perception at the time (right or wrong) was there was a risk involved with bringing Garlett in, this was reflected in his trade value.

At the time we were pretty fresh into building our culture under Roos, and now that he has completed his job and moved on you would think our culture would be even better placed to bring in a player with a similar perception.

Brayshaw and Salem are the future of this club. As much as I rate Wines, nein danke.

ANB plus next year's first rounder would have to have some currency. Unlike some here, I reckon ANB will be a real goer in the next few years.

Arguably there best mid for a player who struggles at AFL level and a pick in the high teens won't fly. If they are shopping Wines then they have something in mind that they want.

What players that are being thrown around do we actually need?

Alright, a further back up for Max would be handy, but I'd rather us not chase an injury prone Vardy or someone who simply isn't up to it.  We'll get Hibberd, but then what else do we need?  Did we really need a Mayne or a Wells?  Mitchell was always interested in the Hawks, while Rockliff does nothing for me in the slightest in terms of what he will bring to the club off the field.

I understand people want to see stuff done, but think it through first.  With our young list and the improvement to come there isn't much we need to do at this stage.  Having one quiet trade period is not the end of the world.

Totally agree with you Wise, Hibberd yes, decent fwd/ruck as long as no [censored] cost and that is about it   Mahoney being saying same thing

I cant tell if you are undervaluing Rockliff or severely overvaluing Dunn but there is no way in hell that would happen. Dunn has next to no value as an old Defender who cant play modern zone footy, Rockliff is an All Australian midfielder (despite playing in a [censored] team) and a club captain.

People have to realise you have to pay closer to the value of the player to the club he is leaving than the value to the club he is moving to. Rockliff is worth far more to Brisbane than he is to us. Thats why Hawthorn so frquently pays overs for the players they want. If Melbourne wanted Rockliff they would have to pay well overs to get him.

I'm maybe exaggerating a little but he's is a free agent at the end of next year so lions can take what they are given now or get nothing in 12 months. If they think he's going anyway

Garlett had a choice of 3 clubs, he picked Melbourne

Not sure why posters assume we're doing nothing this trade period simply because they haven't 'heard' anything from SEN or bigfooty.

How about just wait until the end of next week.

I'm sure we'll pull a rabbit out of the hat and it won't be the Hibberd trade.

Could the Hibberd delay be to do with us promising this year's 2nd rounder to Hawthorn for Lewis? (Which they may be planning on using as part of another deal)

Why would the Hawks trade out Mitchell & Lewis. I thought they made a call on Mitchell so that Lewis would be retained. He's 30, but he doesn't seem like he has any more than two years left, one excellent and one average year imo.

Sorry but what am I missing. He started in 2005. He's a free agent isn't he?

Escapes me why we would want an ageing , slowish type when we have an urgent  need for speed.

We are too busy negotiating whether to use this years second rounder or next years second rounder for Hibberd to worry about any other potential trades.

Do you honestly believe that crap, or is it just another typical Olisik post ?

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
