So you are telling me anonymous posters on an internet board do

not sure where you are coming from with that comment

seems a bit bizarre

I am not friends with players   I chat to them at training and functions    as I have the social skills to come out from behind my keyboard and do that

You seem more intent on trolling than contributing to the thread which was about us looking at Motlop and then Jeff Garlett was brought up, in my opinion, in an erroneous manner

I'm not trolling, I barely post now days. It's frustrating how you believe you feel the need to champion every player on the MFC list, then tell everyone your conversations with the players. By your own admission you are not friends with the players, so therefore the depth of your conversations and validity is not worth the keyboard your writing on.

HINT - poeple are tried of hearing about your conversations with the players. Try to keep em to yourself....

Nah, it's all fun. The nuttier, funnier, combative and weirder the better. Go Dees.

Melksham, Hibberd, Motlop would all be top 22 players based on their past evidence, which to my mind equals us improving.

They also add experience and fill the 24-26 age group where we are poorly represented.

Which is good.

I for one am happy to hear what Saty has garnered from talking directly to players. Not sure what some people's problems are with it all, it adds to our insight into what is going on down at the club. Much of the interest in this forum is about what people have heard from contacts close to the club, and of course we take it all with a grain of salt until verified by events.

Come on man. Saty loves the club. He talks to players from the club and he gets out amongst it and enjoys airing his views. I say good on Saty.

If Jeff Garlett blamed his lack of form on his team mates lack of good ball movement into the forward line and coaches for asking him to step out of a forward pocket and play different roles when the season was basically over to a supporter/club member, he should be seriously line managed.

Im not saying all Saty's post are not worthy, but his bias and need to champion every player by backing it up with a 'quote' from players who know to give supporters 'the party line quotes/conversations' is over stating his knowledge.

I agree R2G, I love the passion and the efforts of Saty.... Just not his need to defend every negative post on aplayer. I forget the name of the poster who stupidly made the comment that Jeffy stop trying after his contract renewal. Dumb!

But over kill is tiresome

I'm the poster you're referring to and I simply said his form dropped after we extended his contract, I never said he stopped trying, that was an inference made by the other poster you're referring too.

Thats the problem, things get taken out of context by him and all of a sudden it's taken as fact.

ive got him on ignore because I'm sick of his grandstanding and derailing of every thread he gets on to.

As for Motlop...

Apart from Dangerwood and perhaps Caddy the Cats don't have an abundance of contested ball winners.

Motlop is outside, but in a team full of contested ball winners (Tyson, Viney, Jones, Oliver, Vince, Brayshaw, Petracca) I reckon Motlop could be the icing that's missing.

In 4 of the last 5 years he's kicked at least 26 goals.  We only had 3 players kick over 26 this year and 2 last year.  Only Hogan kicked more than Motlop in 2016.

I'm not sure why some are quick to dismiss him.  He may just fit better in our side than the current Cats' side.

I don't like any who are too outside, too soft, & not contesting the hard ball.

But he must be better than Garlett in this regard & for consistency?  I would prefer to do better than to have 2 soft forwards.  But maybe we could take one step forward at a time. maybe get Motlop, & trade out Garlett?

But i would rather a Pickett in our front row.  With a name like that, he would have to be a hard ball winner as well.

This type of player is always inconsistent, with very few exceptions. They all go through a run of games when they don't do much and can't get near it, but they'll also have some great games where they seem to have the ball on a string and bob up everywhere.

Was just reading Josh Schache rejected Brisbane's offer of a contract extension. Will be playing his mandatory 2nd year with the club that drafted him next year.

Played 17 games, averaging 4 marks a game, kicked 16.18, the accuracy doesn't read well but having said that think I only saw him once and he went ok that day. Is he coming back to Victoria at the end of next year?

Don't really have much sympathy for the club but jees I feel for the supporters. Losing him after two years would be heartbreaking

After we went through something similar agree totally. Have to feel for the fans if he plays out the 2 years and looks to head  home because he is home sick and ends up somewhere like fing Cwood or Hawks.

Probably waiting to meet the new coach and to get a picture of where the club is headed, I would if I played for Brisbane.

Plus he will get a much better contract offer next year than this.

I wouldn't be too concerned about Schache leaving, if I recall pre-draft there was a lot of talk about him wanting to go to brisbane. Doesn't he have a family connection?

His old man played there and Josh was also a Brisbane supporter.

In saying that Josh's is very very close to his Mum who is a widow. I know for a fact Josh really struggled with homesickness as it was the first time he's ever been so far away from his mum aince his dad passed away.

really feel for Josh, having to be an 18 year old key forward in that side with such huge expectations on him, i really think they'd do well to look at someone like Dawes just to provide him with some help/cover. and take the pressure off

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
