That's a bit harsh... GNF was considered questionable on his Hogan claims as they were essentially just repeating what had been in the press a couple of days previous to his comments.  Generation Dee in my opinion does NOT deserve criticism because he has actually come up with a previously unheard "rumour" that he was prepared to give substance to by alluding to his sources... a big difference.

Never said he deserved it, just said that he needs to understand that he'll get those responses regardless.  If it doesn't eventuate, or it changes, a select few will invariably crack it and have a go.  He doesn't deserve it, but if he wants to post info, he has to understand that it will happen.

Generation Dee is back peddling at an alarming rate... There goes your cred.

Why do you bother to read threads like this?

People hear things and some choose to post, if you don't like it that's your problem. Enough of the personal. I am glad to hear what might happen, sometimes it does.

You could get the information from the player himself and things could still change, is that not reliable information?

Exactly, you actually become more reliable when you can call a change before hand, with a reason, especially if it turns out to be true as it shows you actually are getting reliable information.

100% very rare that anyone can post information on here without getting at least one person question it, if you have confidence in your information though you won't be bothered what posters think.

This is where future autobiographies of players/managers will be the ONLY way of finding out how close some failed trades were to actually going through...

Invariably a lot of potential trades will be hit and miss but a lot of water has to go under the bridge before total truth is known...

The truth IS out there

Nothing personal at all.

GD credibility will naturally drop if in fact Rockliff has not had a medical at MFC over the last 12 hours. The fact that he seems to be on a boat in the sun, on his own insta, backs up the fact that it is unreliable.

If someone reads something that is quite clearly BS, I'd rather them call it out then continue to believe there's a chance the rumour is true. :)

Interesting that as of 16 hours ago he was out on a boat somewhere sunny and tropical... Wonder when he found time to do the medical in Melbourne?

Whilst your overly patronising tone probably doesn't deserve a reply, I'll fill you in.

Medical was on Wednesday or Thursday, not completely sure. Results came back over the weekend, he was in Darwin on the weekend at a birthday/bucks show and was due back tonight to Melbourne.

That's all I've got, I have no other melb based news

If you are willing to pass on information from your source, you become not reliable if your source is not reliable. Its pretty simple.

Mate nothing is written in stone. There a numerous hurdles and hoops to get through. Sh!t does change. Take it was a grain of salt and just enjoy it for what it is. A maybe, but a fun maybe.

Firstly, Rockliff is away on a boat, most likely in WA, for Jack Redden's bucks weekend. When did he do this medical with MFC?

Secondly, didn't GenerationDee say he got in trouble for passing on the info his source gave him? Why would that source then give him more confidential info?

Thirdly, aside from the possibilities that the situation changed or the source got it wrong, there is also the possibility that GD just made it up? Not saying that is what's happened, but it wouldn't be a first for Demonland. Other posters have had the same accusations leveled at them, I'm not sure why he'd be impervious to that.

The best way for me to contact Mahoney with my idea for a trade, would be to start a rumour. Not saying that is or isn't the case here though.

Furthermore, most people are excited by the rumour and want Rockliff, so it kind of suggests that Mahoney should consider the opinions of fans, even if it's been made up. So it's not really the worst thing to happen.

Seems like a long time for medical results, especially if it was done by our own club doctors. Why would it take 3/4 days for them? Especially during the short trade period. We usually get scan results the same day during the season don't we? Did Brisbane not co-operate with his medical records? (Trying to hide it maybe)

Posters like you are the reason many don't pass on information. All good, demon land can go on without me.

Had enough of the  inbox messages and posts like yours. Enjoy when you get no information at all!

GD I frankly don't care if you give information or not.  I'll know by close of business Thursday what trades we've done.  I'd have had no issue with you posting your "rumour" but for the fact that you quoted sources that were so good the rumour couldn't be wrong. If you said you'd got it from someone else who was "generally right" I couldn't care less. If you can't understand the difference I can't help you.

And by the way, for all those that don't like what I've done I've not sent one PM to GD and I'll happily stand by my approach to this.  I've been too disappointed in the past by trolls putting hopes forward that I've subsequently found out were never even discussed and I questioned this rumour because it had all those hallmarks.

I have no idea on that, I'd just be speculating. Would think it would be pretty much the same day for a medical. I find it weird that he wouldn't have had surgery or straight after the season ended of that was the case too. Again, just the info I've got.

He's had the shoulder problems for a few years, maybe it's not something that can be rectified with surgery? If true, seems a bit like us trying to sneak Trenners off to Richmond without them finding out things...

GD, it is so easy to be a perpetual cynic.

I like your posting but this is a bit silly.  Perpetual cynic?  Do you accept everything you read?  I just used a basic "smell test" and his rumour smelt off.  As it's looking much of what GD has said is questionable about medicals etc.

If I've got a view about the likelihood of something happening or being correct are you saying I shouldn't post?  It's a forum for different views.  I'll stand happily by mine as they look reasonably good at the moment.  If Rocky comes to MFC and GD was right all along I'll recognize his information as correct and I was wrong.  Won't be the first time and won't be the last.

Where on earth is the "perpetual cynic" in that.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
