Funny that this is brought up. About a month or two ago I saw Goodwin, McCartney, Melksham and.............. Hibberd having a quiet beer and counter meal in a pub in Richmond pub.

I assumed it was a catch up of dons and ex-dons players/coaches, but perhaps there was more to it.

I wouldn't be against it as he's kick is a weapon, but I wouldn't want the club to pay too much. As others have said, definitely focus on Hurley!

I would be happy if we got him. I wouldn't have an issue with both he and Melkshem coming in.

I would give him a game in defence before Lumumba and Garland.

Either way, it'll be interesting to see how the banned Essendon players come back next year. Will they have lost touch? Will they run out of legs half way through the season? How will it impact on their entire season?

On that note, do we know what Melksham has been up to this year? Working at the local KFC?

Someone on those facebook pages 2 weeks ago mentioned they had a relative source to Hibberd and apparently he is pretty disgruntled at the Footy club still for what they did.

Melbourne had been keeping tabs on him and he is apparently very keen to get to the Dees alongside his best mate Melksham.

Thought it was interesting.

Goody and Macca would know plenty about him to be able to make a decision on his upside, another strong AFL body and good ball user never hurts.

I've always loved Hibberd. Great spoiler, marker and terrific user of the footy. Would slot in very well in our backline. WANT

Can he give Hurley a lift ;)

I do not want his as his names sounds way to much like a person organism i used to work with.

Would have pick him up about 3 years ago, now I'm not to sure.

Would prefer a 26 year old mid instead of a defender connsidering we have Melk coming in next season.

Think we've got a bit of a glut at HB: Salem, Lumumba, Melksham, Michie, Hunt, White, Wagner

Michie is nowhere near the 22, or at least shouldn't be. White is a rookie. Hunt and Wagner are kids. Salem and Lumumba both currently out, showing up our lack of depth. Plus, aside from Lumumba, all those players are 24 or younger.

I didn't mention N.Jones, Vince and Bugg who are all capable and have played there this year.  And I wont mention Grimes and Terlich who wont be at the club next year.  But if you think an 11th option to play of HB is a priority then go for it!

Jones and Vince have played there partly because of the lack of quality users, so you're basically strengthening the case for bringing in a a player like Hibberd.

We have far from a glut of HBF options. Numbers wise perhaps, but not quality wise. Especially with Salem stagnating.

Ruck/Fwd, Class KPB and outside mid class are far higher priorities.

Higher, yes. That need not necessarily impact getting Hibberd to the club.

Though I suppose it is Essendon we're talking about, so they will want Hogan plus some steak knives.

Enough knives soaring around B'land at the mo.....

If we get those three including Hurley that's half their bloody backline. Amazing. Maybe they should merge with us back on the straight and narrow.

You think the best position for Jones and Vince is HB?

You're allowed to have more than a couple of things on the list. No one is saying those things aren't higher priorities.

Lowest priority on my list is HB.

Hunt and Wagner are currently our HB's... Both barely 21 and basically their first season.

But ok, let's keep riding the kids into the ground with no one to teach them.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
