I have been told by a person close to Lachie that he is wanting to come to the city of melbourne. I havent followed him but believe that he was a number 1 pick.

Would he fit in with our needs?

Would cost every bit of 2 first round picks that we don't have and doesn't fit the bill of the type of midfielder we recruit, i don't consider him to be a "competitor" though he is a very skillful player.

Why would you leave GWS now?

Because you have to live in Western Sydney, play in front of 7,000 every other week and represent a soulless franchise?

And to answer the OP, yes he's exactly the type of player we lack and need.

That's a bit of a shock given this news just last month.

Former AFL No.1 draft pick Lachie Whitfield has signed a two-year contract extension with the Giants, dashing the hopes of Victorian clubs looking to lure the talented midfielder home.

The 21-year-old was due to come out of contract at the end of the season, but the new deal will keep him in western Sydney until the end of 2018, according to reports.

Whitfield, the top selection from the 2012 draft, has played 58 games for GWS including the first seven rounds this year where he has averaged almost 21 disposals a game.

Should be banned for this thread. Totally unsubstantiated rumour that was quickly, and rightly, pointed out to be BS.

Poor form from the OP.

Poor form from the OP.

Maybe harsh, but if he went and made another identical one after being discredited here then maybe.... oh wait

Lucky bastard. I used to party hard but I've been set a ceiling of 9.45pm. It's limiting.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
