Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Changes for next week v Swans

No changes.

Except 90 less fuc%$^n handballs. Against the Swans, they will destroy us if we continue to f$^^k around with the footy

We over used it by hand more so than any other match so far but wasn't far off our common 1.0 ratio. The Power match we had a 1.20 ratio and lost badly so in the end it really comes down to how well you use it by foot. We aren't as good as the Hawks just yet unfortunately!

This mix is just about right IMO and we can rest up after the Swans game. Plus the young blokes that looked a little loose/spent (Hunt, Oliver) will get another look at how the boys up top go about their business if they remain. Can't do that if they aren't playing. No changes this week please.

Don't think Jeffy did enough, but I'd have him in the side before Vanders I reckon. Is a very untidy footballer. Goes hard, but his inefficiency is costly at times.

We need to reduce turnovers against the Swans or they will chop us up on the turnover on the boutique ground.

Harmes is pretty reliable with the ball except for last week.

Vandenberg or Hunt sprayed the ball and could be dropped or just as well kept.  Vandenberg looked weary.

No one put their hand up at Casey.

Garlett will be back before long, but maybe not against the swans on the SCG. I think him being dropped was no more than the FD making a statement to him regarding needing to maintain high standards, rather than any real form issue or concern.

I'd love to see Grimes come in for maybe VB or Stretch. Can start on a wing/HF and be used in defence if we're getting hurt back there

Matt Jones did.

I've noticed a lot of people saying that Vanders struggled or was a bit untidy. He's not the prettiest footballer but he's just so hard around the ball and is an awkward match up at half forward next to Hogan, Watts and Dawes.

I really like what he offered today and would definitely play him next week.

Like most I'd focus on fatigued players, Stretch may be in that basket in which case I'd bring in M Jones or Harmes.

Oliver was average against Pies but we need his hardness and contested work against Swans. Wagner out for Grimes

Matt Jones in but no idea who for. I just loved Jones in the side earlier and want him back

Why should Wagner get dropped?  He did nothing wrong this weekend.

I still think we go with no change.  Unless they feel one of the kids needs a rest there is no need to drop anyone from that side.  As Roos said it was an even contribution across the board.  No need to mess with a winning formula at the moment.

Poor decision making & poor disposal is usually a good reason to be dropped. One of my mates who watched yesterday but is a neutral supporter had the same opinion. Only thing is who replaces him... Grimes has been playing midfield at Casey so doubt he'd be bought in to play off half back.. Maybe Michie, although Grimes does deserve a go on his form, might just have to find a spot for him

I agree 100% with that sentence! Unfortunatly you seem to be very confused about who Wagner is, he is a fantastic kick and makes pretty good decisions for a ~10 gamer! You also want to bring Michie or Grimes the latter i agree deserves a run but neither of them have as good disposal as Wagner.

Absolutely they should be dropped.  Problem is Wagner wasn't one of those players.

Sounds strange but he brought more to the team than most thought

No I agree Jones was good earlier in the year, but he hasn't earned a call up yet. That, plus Wagner for Grimes and Oliver out I have to disagree with.

Has to be purely injury and/or fatigued based this week.  You wouldn't drop anyone on yesterday's performance.  Sure, Vandenberg is still building but remember he only had one game at Casey after quite a long lay off.  Dawes played three and took an important step yesterday.  We're better with him in the side and both he and Vanders bring toughness around the footy - required to beat the Swans as GWS demonstrated.  Those baying for Kent's head have gone quiet I notice.  I think we're a chance this week.  When did we last play at the SCG?  Not a happy hunting ground but don't think this group has played there much?

He is very up and down, this week he was good. I think he is a gun and will get better, but it was out of him and harmes to go. He was lucky and he came out and made sure he held his spot. Thats what we wanted to see.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
