Can't find a training thread but thought this article deserved some attention.  http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-05-18/tyson-ready-to-go-against-lions

Its no wonder Gus is being rested. Tyson is quoted as saying he messaged Gus on Tuesday and was still groggy.

Training news:  Watts on light duties. Focusing on clean ball taking on lead.  M Jones and Frost in rehab group.  Tyson's back seems ok for him to play this week. Lumumba not out on the ground. Kent ready to return.  ANB in 'stellar' form!

Some cool pics ftom today"s training  http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-05-18/photo-gallery-wednesday-may-18

Is that Vandenberg in a few pics.  Bodes well if it is.  Missed a few games so may need a few Casey games.

Yeah thats him, looks ready doesn't he.  We are stacked for inside mids though, especially with ANB and Trenners banging the door down.

No idea how we will find spots for them all.

Had a chuckle at that last line!  Oh what a difference Roos has made.  3 years ago our only decent mids of any sought were Nat Jones and Jack T. Look at us now!

To answer your question, sadly we may have to trade some out.  But I prefer we help them reinvent themselves like Nev Jetta has and add strings to their bow.

Edit:  Any chance of reinventing Vandenberg to become a backman?  Same height as Garland

Missons update on the club website has told us a bit about the injured players. Lumumba is still showing concussion symptoms so he can't come in to replace jetta this week. I think we will see grimes get a gig and play down back, as we dont have many other small defender options for the likes of green and zorko at times.

Kent sounds right to go as well and he did play out the gold coast game with his back, so i suspect he may come in.

To conclude, i dont think ANB is the lock this week some think he is.

Oh, and vanders will play for casey. Make no mistake, a fit and firing vandenburg gives us a real point of difference with his size and speed. Even when he played poorly this year he still added a few goals against gws and north. Cant wait to have him back.

I'd be really surprised if ANB isn't selected. They have to reward his form - 3 best ons in a row. Sends a funny message if not picked.

I think they'll bring OMac in and Kent comes straight back in.

So who goes out?

Stretch would have been borderline before last but he had his best game of AFL last week so they'll stick with him. I think Michie stays in as the small HB. Wagner was alos poor so i guess he's a chance to go out, though i think the'll stay the course (Hunt and Wagner have both dropped off after Demonland came on board as sponsors - perhaps they got ahead of themselves!)

Jetts is obviously out. Unfortunately for Garland i think he'll go. He is one of my favorites but he seems to be really struggling to adapt to the zone defense. I think Harmes will be the other unlucky one. Hasn't done much wrong but wasn't great last week and ANB is a straight swap.

I think they are fairly forthcoming on longer term injuries or injuries that are known to all - but I am sure they will keep opposition clubs (us) guessing on an unannounced injury that may keep someone out on the weekend to upset the oppositions planning.

For example - If Gawn was 50/50 not to play on the weekend and  I would expect Spencil to be emergency and a certain amount of subterfuge.

However, the likes of Trengove, AVDB, H, Brayshaw  - I expect they are telling us what they know.

Always smiling. Like a staffy. Meanwhile, Hogan always seems to be partially distracted, as if working out some troubling mathematical equation in his head . . .

Little bit of concern again re mouthguards, do they put them in at certain times? Just going by the photos.

One of our sons down at Launceston got one of his broken at uni training without a mouthguard, so it's quite easy to do

I was literally reading this post when the MFC text came through for the selections.

So to answer that question it's Salem.

So they can shout out a clearly enunciated "Hurrah!" upon slotting it.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
