I don't mind anyone with inside info but Flamingo does look no different to what you mentioned. I still watch with interest whether his comment of Michael Barlow to the Dees does become a reality.

will be very interesting indeed, seems as though the Hogan camp is on total lock down as far as info goes so i doubt anyone is going to get much info for a while on this one.

Might be one of half a dozen darts thrown at the board that actually hits the mark.

Who are all these players?

Reminds me of Ricky Ponting Cricket on the old playstation when they didn't pay for the licensing of player names (other than Ricky himself).

Solid team of Gilchurst, MacGrith, Witsen, etc.

Remember that. A. Gilchrist was actually changed to E. Gilchurch. Vintage!

Maybe I should have taken a different approach.  Take two.

From what I was told not the weekend just gone but the one before.  And yes some or even a lot of this has been floated on this tread.

1).  Club was 95% sure that contract would have been finalised by now, well months ago.  Jesse announcing contract talks on hold came as a shock.  Club was not expecting it.

2)  CBA had nothing to do with contract talks being put on hold.

3)  Club does not believe money being put infront of Jesse was the issue contract talks stopped.

4)  Sime of the current players do not believe Jesse will stay at the club long term.

5)  Club has held off progressing too far in talks with some potential recruits that are more high profile than Hibberd.  They are waiting in a little more clarity.

6)  We should hear something by end of next week.

All I'm doing is passing on what I've been told.

Also next time I see him I'll ask about Barlow again as he said Melbourne were quite interested and had spoke with him.  After watching yesterday, another slow player I hope not.

THIS is the big issue and why we need an answer from Jesse.  It's not just about his future, or whether he is obliged to give a response before his contract is up, it's about the club being able to plan their moves during trade week.  If he can't do the decent thing and let the club know what pieces they are playing with, then the club needs to make the call for him.

Good lord flamingdees is it possible to post any more comments in this thread? That's a rhetoric question by the way.

As a troll I like your gentle style - far nicer than braysure. But you've laid the groundwork, for heaven's sake it's time land the fish.

All I've been told is that Jesse has been given as much space as possible since end of season.  Club is not pushing Jesse hard however has given him time and space to think about his future and where that lies. The bloke I know does not have any idea if Jesse will decide to stay or go. He does not believe Jesse knows what he wants to do either at this point.  He has his opinion but it's just an opinion based on what he knows right now.

He's told me that Jesse will speak to relevant parties within the club shortly.

Also told me that the club was super confident Jesse was going to a agree to a new deal quite some time ago. Then a back flip. Club was quite taken a back at the time.  Also told me his decision will be 95% based on where he wants to live and that the CBA stuff that was reported was rubbish.  Told me Jessse loves his team mates and likes Melbourne and that he is torn as reported.

Club is holding out on other player contracts at the moment because of this situation.

I don't know Flamingdee but his info is parallel to mine.  My info is correct as it is first hand and direct.  There is no "hear say" in what I have written and thus I suspect Flamingdee is not far off the top of the tree.  Yet too many cowgirls on this site are prepared to smash and criticise the rare and only info that has some quality and truth.

One thinks its time many of you grew a life outside of demonland.  It is after-all the worlds smallest pond.

For those who want to know where Hogan is at, the above post is worth a read.

The problem I suspect GNF is that your source doesn't understand the 2nd language of the AFL, which is "Lying".

Many of us on here became nervous when talks were put on hold this time last year. His manager comes out with the usual spin about wanting to see the direction of the club, blah, blah, blah. Lies. To appease the members and media, the club's spin doctors then come out and say that it was mutually agreed to put talks on hold till the end of this season. More Lies.

To top it off, your source then comes out and says that Hogan will re-sign within 6 months. The b#llshit meter was now on high alert. Anyone with half a brain would understand that it's not in the club's interests for Hogan to remain uncommitted after trade week.

Either the club and your source couldn't read the tea leaves with everything that Hogan and his management have said to date, or they're gullible.

His post doesn't make sense GNF, it says that Jesse has been given time and space to work things out and deal with a personal issue, how can they claim they're doing that but also have a time frame on an answer from Jesse, surely it's one or the other.

if he's genuinely torn than any time frame puts pressure on that decision which makes giving him time and space in a difficult time for his family totally pointless doesn't it?

if that's the way the club deals with a young man in a difficult time of his life i'd be really dissapointed, and absolutely shocked if Jesse is a demon by the end of trade week.

i'd be surprised if the club isn't handling it in the most professional way, abe. no matter how frustrating it may be to them.....and us

there is obviously much much more between the lines that we will probably never know

The only thing to debate is whether the club has truly given Jesse all the time he requires or whether there is some pressure for him to indicate before the trade period.  My info is two weeks old but was absolute at the time. Since this time in the last two weeks his manager has come out and said (in as many words) Jesse will not make a decision before this years trade period. Whether that is acceptable to the club, I don't know.  All I know is that two weeks ago the club remained very confident he would re-sign but if he did not would trade him for Fyfe.  I suspect the Fyfe thing is this year only.  Read into that what you will.  I honestly know no more.

Thanks GNF. I love a good riddle. I was disappointed with my inability to decipher your riddles during the Dangerfield saga but I've been hard at work ever since tackling cryptic crosswords and my 6 year old daughter's 'Book of Riddles' and I think I'm ready. So I highlighted the clear clues you've left for the Demonland faithful and decided to use google to help filter through your obvious list of clue words. But then it dawned on me that it can't be that simple. Remembering that Hogan's Heroes was produced by Bing Crosby Productions back in 1967 I decided to overlook Google this time and head over to Bing. Without hesitation I entered the above words (pond cowgirl parallel "hear say") into my new favourite search engine of choice and BAM there it was! Screaming out to me only three sites down on the list of search responses was a massive indication of your real hidden message. I was being implored to download Adele's 'Someone Like You'. And the alarm bells were ringing. The last time I'd listened to that song was 5 years ago to this very day (haunting) when my Facebook feed was flooded by friends pricks who thought it would be funny to rip my heart open with reminders of Scully's defection. So there it is. He's gone and about to sign a 5 year deal. But with whom? So following the same approach I turned my attention back to google, entering the same 4 words. And again, three sites down on the list, incredibly, I found another music site, this time from Russia. And sure enough, there was the final clue. Enlisting the assistance of the ever reliable Google Translate, I confidently scrolled down to find a list of the most recently added lyrics and again staring out at me was 'Over the Couds I Meander'. Clearly a reference to Eagles and therefore the West Coast Eagles.

It was a fun riddle-filled tryst GNF. Until next trade period.

Reminds me of a year 8 student copying small extracts of different google results to try and put together an assignment they've forgotten to do until the night before, lots of little snippets of things said on here or in the media all blended together and leading to one conclusion,

you, like most of demonland has no idea what Jesse is doing and is seemingly unwilling to commit one way or another, just dancing around the question.

for the record, i think he'll stay.

Wow. Unfortunately, that was me in Year 8 Science. And then I was hauled over the hot coals for it. :P

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves.
