I thought Petracca showed signs, especially considering how badly the side played. 

I'd definitely keep him in the side, though i 100% agree Oliver should never have missed this game, he's already very important to our setup

We were smashed because the coaches sat on their hands rather than proactively made any changes. 

The players being exhausted didn't help, but Oliver would've had more energy than most today.

Looking forward to seeing how Truck goes next week. His debut wasn't as impressive as Clarry's, but his team mates also weren't working as hard as they did against GWS.

Next week will see Viney, Oliver, Petracca and Tyson in at stoppages. That is the future and it's an exciting future. I expect Gawn to lift next week and I expect Tyson to lift as well. He played an A grade game last week and then was decidedly sketchy this week. Need you to lift again, Dom.

I just have a feeling in my gut that Truck will come out and have a monstrous game next week. It's the same feeling I had before the Essendon game where I knew we'd lose, and even this morning when I wasn't confident of a win.

Something just strikes me about next week as being momentous for us.

I agree to a point that the coaches didn't do enough, but it's really hard for them when the players just aren't running hard enough, the Saints totally outworked us, they killed us on transition with speed and skills and we didn't work hard enough to put pressure on, just gave up and let them move it easily.

We ran out of legs,  we were in the game until we couldn't keep up any more.  They were running away from us at stoppages and it looked like we were stuck in the mud. We are a very young team playing fast paced footy,  the 5 and a half day turnaround did us no favours. I lost some faith in the selection/fitness staff for failing to see or properly gauge our fitness/stamina levels properly through the the week. 

I'd be gauging the energy levels very closely this week,  and not wedding myself to the notion that wholesale changes are necessary a bad thing- if fresher bodies are available. The sun's  will come out hard next week and we are going to expend a lot of energy to keep up. Anyone under a fitness cloud must make way for a fresher body. I'd be seriously looking at resting players like Salem,  Kent and Harmes and looking to bring in pace in M Jones,  and stamina in ANB and even Grimes. The door is open for anyone who's banging loudly enough,  I'd hate to see minimal changes for the sake of status quo and end up with the same result next weekend

If the gameplan is causing such strenuous tiredness to the players then the gameplan isn't effective, simple as that. The whole idea that all 18 players should be running back and forth for the entire game, in an age of the 90 interchange cap, makes no sense to me.

TMac has become the Watts of 2013, he needs to be dropped to learn to find some consistent form. He is a huge liability and has probably single handedly lost us half a dozen games or so in his career (think against Daniher, Cloke, Riewoldt ect)

he needs to learn this is the big time and he can't be lazy. I have had enoigh of his inconsistency. We won't win a premiership or even make finals with TMac playing as inconsistent as he does.

Whilst i may be looking in to it with too much favour, i loved Petracca's penetrative kick in the middle to Hogan inside the 50, leading to a Hogan goal.

He has the ability and confidence to kick it forward with purpose and penetration required that will make Hogan light up, whenever he sees Truck with the pill in the middle.

Thinking about this I wouldn't mind seeing Dawes try play as a backman. His concrete hands would be good at slapping the ball away. Have lost my [censored] with TMac and tall forwards schooling us time and time again.

Salem failed the concussion test and word is Harmes may have a corkie. Hunt could probably go back to Casey to work on some things for a week or so while Kent needs to learn some consistency and Frost needs to learn how to find the ball. As for Tommy Mc & Dunn, you could drop either. Good 3 week period to bring Oscar in anyway given Gold Coast, Bulldogs & Brisbane don't have huge 2nd key forwards.

If you start swinging the axe over a bad game then you'll wind up dropping 2/3 of the team.  I know everyone is as furious as I am about the insipid performance, but realistically we'll make only a couple of changes. 

Salem should be out for at least next week.  Bear in mind that it was VINEY who hit him.  That's going to have a lasting impact 

I saw a couple of other people limping at various points as well, so it could well be that one of them fails to come up. 

Obvious  players for consideration would be Oliver, M. Jones, ANB and Brayshaw, although I think he needs more games at Casey to get his act together.  Maybe consider White as a HB with good disposal to replace Salem.

Poor ANB deserves a game. Been smashing the door down and I like what he brings. 

As for Trenners, I don't think they'll bring him back first up for an interstate game with a long flight for recovery purposes.

I reckon have him ready for the Lions at the G in a couple of rounds time. Sunday early arvo game, will get more bums on seats, and the Lions ain't exactly as quick as the likes of the Dogs or Suns.

Bugg ?  Don't rate him at all.

Not sure why some think Trengove won't be ready.

He played a Casey intra, which was his first hitout and did well.  He next played a Casey practice match and had 18 possessions to half-time before fading in the second half.  And today will be his third game for Casey (knocked out early in the other).  This will be his 5th game in the last 6-7 weeks.

Maybe he needs one more after today, but he certainly can't be far away, especially on the back of being best afield last week.

The ins depend on the Casey outcome. ANB may play where I have Trenners or Jones, but Oliver is a must play now.

I'm assuming Salem and Harmes will miss through injury.

Can't see them dropping Kent. Sure, he was totally terrible, but it was on the back of some great form. We've seen that he can go cold and then hot again from week to week - needs several weeks of bad form to lose his place I reckon. Hopefully as he gains experience, he learns how to work his way in to a game when he's struggling, because right now the wheels just fall off completely.
