Casey Scorpions intra-club practice match - Friday 25th March, 2016

It will be interesting to see who plays in this practice match.

One assumes that you run a line through the 3 emergencies named to play against the Giants.

Will Angus and Heritier get a run or are they not 100%.

How will Jack Trengove play after virtually two years since his last appearance?

These are just some of the questions that might be answered tomorrow soon after 10.30am at Gosch's Paddock.

MFC just tweeted:-

"Our VFL training and match simulation will commence at 10.30am at Gosch's Paddock tomorrow. Please note this will be a short session."

OK ... so if it's a VFL training and match simulation and it's a "short session", why not give the Truck a brief run as a warm up for what's to come?

As Pink Freud suggested, let Truck have a run with Brayshaw and Dunn, especially if it is a short session. He has looked the goods at training!

Gus and Dunn have been left out of the team because they aren't 100% fit.  Does that mean that they give them a run with the Casey boys as a tune-up or that they rest them for the week?

Either way I'm looking forward to hearing the reports on Trengove.  Fingers crossed.

2 very fit players as emergencies in Grimes and Stretch who might not need the run. Dunn as emergency for tall cover but given the side named he'd probably only come in if a tall back pulled out. So all in all I'd say Dunn, Gus and Lumumba should take part. Save one of Grimes or Stretch as the emergency.

Maybe the medical and conditioning guys know a little better than the fans.

With a minute to go to the scheduled start they're all doing sprints. The Truck is quick; you don't want to be on the receiving end of a bump at full tilt. I can see the Kings, Hunty, Mitch White and the Weed.

Heritier and Billy S out there too!

Immediately behind us the Melbourne Victory squad are training and behind them, the Storm.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
