  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

So Madigan says:

Quote

"The minister for sport has told me, in writing, that 'successive legal reviews' had found the ASADA investigation into  the Essendon Football Club was conducted 'in accordance with Australian legislation'," Madigan said.

"If the minister is right, how does she account for the absurdity of the outcome? The fact is that the 34 sanctioned 2012 Essendon footballers are the victims of a workplace safety crime, a crime found by a Victorian magistrate to have been committed by their employer.

While I sympathise with a view that there are bigger villains involved than some of the players, how can a man who can fill out a senate nomination form not understand that players are (and have to be) ultimately responsible for what goes into their bodies.

I fail to see how a senator cannot differentiate between victorian law and the rules of sport

As predicted by most James Hird has lost his legal case against Chubb and now has to pay a legal bill of around $640,000. Maybe he should be suing his lawyers for the abysmal advice he has received throughout the whole saga!

Good point Old Dee! Hadn't thought about him being so incredibly egotistical to ignore the experts advice. Not sure how I missed it when it really is an incredibly viable proposition.

He's absolutely correct. Workcover should have destroyed that football club for what it's done, and had key figures under massive charges.  Players getting off however is not an option.

I had a conversation in the last  hour with a friend who is responsible for looking after all things insurance for the company were he works.

He has held this position at three company over the last 20 years.

He says that he has never heard of a company having insurance to cover the costs of an employee suing someone who they feel has wrong them.

He has had a case where the company agreed to cover the legal costs of an employee before the action was started but that was the company paying not the insurance company.

In his words this is Company insurance 101. You are covered for people suing you end of story.

But I guess the normal rules don't apply to Demigods.

A lawyer who acts for her husband has a fool for a client- or somesuch garbled version of the old saying.  But I wouldn't be surprised if it was a case of don't take legal advice from someone emotionally involved.

He may not have nous for legal matters but I wonder who's arm he going to twist to pay his costs? Shown to be good at getting others to pay for his mistakes.

I fear the worst for poor 'St.James' - one wonders just how many 'mysterious benefactors' one can expect to have in one lifetime......

Presume he and the ever-lovely Tania will have to sell another investment property - there goes the negative gearing benefits.

Hird has now become the international invisible man of mystery. Keeping a low profile. Perhaps can't get the fee he wants for another exclusive interview or saving his words for the tell all book.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
