Take 8: Best of the rest - A new look at training Monday 14th

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

On Monday 14th December I ventured down to the paddock to record some images of the Dees training as I'm want to do from time to time and posted around 100 photographs of the Dees at work. To post the 100 pictures I take around 500 pictures and share what I consider to be a representative cover of the boys effort on the day.  You don't see every frame that I take.

I thought that because we are now in a bit of a hiatus with the cub shut down till next year that I would spend I bit of time exploring one of my passions (photography) examining the result of my afternoons work and sharing an extended  view of what I see at training covering one of my other passions (The Dees)..

I'll go through the full 500 shot gallery and pick selected shots and sequences over the next couple of weeks until the boys are back in town. You'll see shots you have already seen in the original post but they will be in context with other shots.

If you have no interest in this, have a lovely Christmas and I'll see you in the new year.

For all of the rest of you, the first small set is of the big Gawn. Two of the shots were in the original post.

... thanks SSSix.

can you tell me who is that little pink pig in the white cap, running around like a porky in mud ?     & when will Watts get a 6pack?  still too much puppy on him.

great shots. fun to watch.

666 appreciate the shots as whenever I have attended training I have felt:

1)  a bit self-conscious whipping out my android when so many have serious cameras clicking,

2) conscious that there are some running around who I don't recognise.

Would it be a massive impost over the off-season to caption some photos so we can familiarise ourselves with the new lads and lesser lights?

I cannot wait for Petracca to play for us next year. I reckon he'll have a very significant impact.

For the first time in many years, im absolutely pumped about the upcoming season. Baby steps are over i reckon. By the end of next year the entire football world should have a new found respect for MFC.

Thx for the shots 666.

that's him in this group of shots in the white cap... is that Clayton Oliver?

Three of them are in white caps, the one that looks like he is made of alabaster is CO.

sorry S6S, your right there are many white caps,  so I see the one i'm talking about is COliver... now can you tell me the taller one, skinny kid, please?

oliver looks as I would expect in close shot,  but smaller than expected other side of pack, when with the ball... I hope that makes him slippery around packs. ;)

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
