Not at all. But it's why I like that we have these kids in now to push those guys not to replace them right away. If we waited a couple of years then Dawes and Pedersen would be truly past it and we'd be either playing kids or having to find mature replacements who would either cost a bit in a trade or potentially be repeat Tom Gillies types.

Seen a lot worse highlight reels than 'wholet'. Found plenty of space, marked it ok, kicked it ok, seemed to run ok and decent size. Jury still on the amount of fight in the dog and desire to make it, but base foundations looked solid.

It's the kicking and physicality that impressive me.

I've just had a brief chat with a friend of his Mother. She tells me that Hulett is another kid who was in the sights of several clubs before copping injuries in the last year or so. Melbourne have been following him for several years and have a pretty good idea of what he can do. She also said she's going to have to defect from the Tigers to come and support him at the Dees.

Was Jordie a success? 79 games from the rookie draft. Few blokes would have eked out that sort of career with his level of talent. Jordie got the most successful career he could have hoped for. A case of ultimate effort over genetic shortcomings.

As a counterpoint the lazy yet supremely talented Allen Jakovich with his dodgy back played 54, Jurrah a paltry 36 and Steve Febey 250+.

He will take a number of spots if his hunger and the talent is there. That applies to any player on our list. That said you underestimate JW's talent.

...but here's my take. If they are playing good footy and knocking the door down and a spot opens up then they get selected.

Some are forgetting how we gave games to all these talented kids and not only did it hurt the team, it hurt the development of the player.

Having some hard and fast - Weideman in 2017 at CHF/FF/Tall Fwd - is enabling the aforementioned poor development that we should probably avoid.

All players are different 'rp', if the kid is ready then he will come in. I like that they have to put a good run of form on the board first.

I wouldn't, and we haven't put restrictions on players because of their age or experience...

Some are ready, some appear to be but aren't, and others aren't. I am certain that all our new talent will play as soon as they are ready, and not before.

PS Isuspect that the Weed will play some games in 2016, and that Huelett probably won't.
