I don't know anything about him, or his twin; But I know Warragul,,, & it IS conservative central... & many are real religiously conservative & judgmental, & narrow minded.

..... for me, I hope he is not in this group.

buyer beware needs to be shown here.

Jonathon Brown would not choose Warragul, I'm sure of that.

What on earth are you talking about?

I have lived here for 26 years and have not came across anything you have said..

Given that this will probably our last top 10 ten pick for a while, I would honestly prefer it if we went for a midfielder. A lot less uncertainty.

Picking a midfielder does not come with guarantees, I know that's not what you are suggesting but if we go Parish at 3 (my preference) we have picked the midfield cream of the past 2 drafts to add to Jones, Vince, Tyson, Salem, Viney, etc That is classy bunch. McKay seems show a lot and if he develops (2 years plus at least) will cover what otherwise will be a gaping hole and/or an over reliance on one player in our forward line. You need an army of midfielders to be successful as we know but quality forwards are also important to achieve success .Even if it is higher risk, it is higher reward as a one off high draft selection. If MFC believe he will be a quality player I would love him in red and blue next year.

In the HS today

"After just one development season, Harry is tipped to crack the top 10 at this months national draft as Melbourne, Carlton and Adelaide eye the marking forward.

Had Harry been born eight days later and ineligible for this years draft, some AFL recruiters believe he would have grown into next years No.1 pick"

AGE: 17

HEIGHT: 200cm

WEIGHT: 91kg

CLUB: Gippsland Power

POISITION: Key forward

SUPERCOACH AVE: 73 (TAC Cup)

PLAYS LIKE: Joe Daniher / Tom Lynch (GC)

PROJECTED DRAFT RANGE: 5-15

IN THE MIX: Melbourne (7), Carlton (8/11), Adelaide (9), Richmond (12)

This kid excites me more than Curnow, Milera and the others tipped to come later.

If Weideman, Curnow & Francis are all gone between 4 & 6, Harry McKay seems not a bad fallback option for us at 7.

If McKay turns out anything like Ablett Snr (who came from Drouin, 5 mins from Warragul), then we would be pretty happy.

Is it a rural Borewood dc? Or is that Borewood is an urban Warragul?

more an upmarket romsey, i would say, bbo, though i do know a few burwoodonians who have moved there

Given the limitations of highlights reels:-

Big strong build

Seems to like a contest

Generally a good left foot kick

Reads the play well

Brings others into the play

Wouldn't say no at the right spot, but hell, what would I know.

Too similar to King and Fitz for my liking but I trust our recruiters.

What similarities do you see with Fitz? Just the 200cm?

He would be the perfect forward/ruck fit if he could develop into anything like the player he's capable of being. a 200cm power forward will be difficult for any teams second defender to handle, he and Hogan could be deadly

I think this kid has just as "higher ceiling potential" as - to use a phrase from The List Manager - as Curnow as a key forward. I like the way he times his leads from the samples of footage I've seen, the way he goes to find the ball, gets up the field, crashes the packs, dishes off. I even like that he is a leftie. For me, right in the frame for pick 7.

and from what i've heard incredibly hard trainer, certainly fits the bills in terms of the types of personalities we're after.

Hogan is going to take the best defender most weeks, handy having a 200cm key who loves a contested mark getting the second best, leave Watts or Dawes the third.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
