While we are looking at spuds like Melksham we are just letting Aaron Hall tour Essendons facilities with obviously intent to seriously look at this guy..

How do you know what we are doing daz? I think it's all very much kept under wraps at the MFC these days and very little is leaked. In reality, we have no idea who they are speaking to or targeting.

For all we know, the whole Melksham situation could be a smokescreen for something else... at least I hope.

Some interesting points in there if true.

Aaron Hall touring Essendon facilities. If he leaves the Suns, we must chase him hard. I could understand if he ended up at one of the bigger clubs, but if he goes to the Bombers, I will be disappointed.

Players used to go to exotic places like Thailand & Bali, a trip to Europe or the US...what is it with touring facilities?

Pies want Aish and Treloar. We should make them have to pay out the nose.

Personally I don't give a rats clacker about where Treloar wants to go, GWS can either play hardball or bend over and take it like Brisbane did. Put an offer on the table that would be hard for the Pies to match for Treloar (haven't seen much of Aish, but hell, do the same for him too if he is good enough). Make it so GWS turn to Treloar and say you go to the Demons or the PSD. Screw sitting back and letting these young punks pick and choose who they play for, get in there and do what we can to either get the kids that we want or seriously screw with the clubs that want them.

GWS will do whatever gets the best deal for them, given the reality of the situation. I imagine they'd let AT go into the psd only as a last resort, as they get zero for him. Would love them to nominate us as their preferred destination for him though!

Remember it's still so early in the trade period and I'm trusting Roos,Jason Taylor and Todd Viney

It could go some thing like this ,we make a late enquiry about Treloar to his manager and trump Collingwoods offer to him by 100 k a year or something like that .

Then we offer a better trade to GWS, maybe the player they have been after in Jeremy Howe, all parties happy, (except the Pies), and deal done.

Believe me when I say that ANYTHING can still happen.

dazzle - I didn't realise that anyone had to have our permission to tour anywhere, even drug laboratories.

As Django pointed out above, we have played our cards close to our chest sing the professionals took over, so who here really knows who we are after or what we are offering?

At the rate you're going we will land Dangerfield, Treloar, Prestia and any other high profile player with a heartbeat.

I know anything can happen... but this won't. He'll either get himself to Collingwood or end up at a potential premiership threat, such as the Tigers. He has no real reason to overlook either of these teams for us. Plus the Pies will come to the party and do the right thing trade wise, even if it takes the full two weeks.

Let me make a slight alteration:

I can speculate in reality, you can speculate in dreamland. :)

Wrong.....reality means you are dealing in facts, you are just giving an opinion as to what might unfold.

But Wiseblood's opinion is based on facts, whereas your speculation is based on wishful thinking.

Not really, unless you or wise blood are Jason Taylor or Todd Viney in disguise then it's all speculation.

No one knows what is really being said behind the scenes.

Don't listen to the noise.

Dude seriously.. none of what you want is gonna happen.. that bit is called reality. Theres no speculation at all. Dangerfield is a cat, Treloar is a pie / tiger.. Dont know how much clear you want us to paint the picture.

Why anyone would go to Essendon at the moment is beyond me. A shell of a club.

But it is a place full of opportunity , for anyone who wants to step up and take it! Followed by a group of very passionate supporters!

DeeZee - I get where you're coming from. I really do. Maybe it's having gone through so many of these periods with these rumours being 99% untrue and 1% true that forces me to look at them in such a cold manner. 5-6 years ago I would have held on to some sort of hope that we were involved in these sorts of deals. Not anymore.

Leon Cameron's comments are simply meant to put a scare through the Pies as we all know the Tigers were right into Treloar. And we all know it's been Geelong or Adelaide for Dangerfield and has been for a year now. The Hawks have been mentioned every now and then but it's nothing more than scuttlebutt.

Dazzle might have got that point across with a sledgehammer... but it's true. We aren't players at all in either deal. I am, however, convinced we have plenty going on behind the scenes to improve our list. It just won't be from either one of these guys.

Possibly but I'd prefer to listen to what Peter Jackson and Paul Roos say about not listening to media noise.

Nothing wrong with thinking about positive scenarios .

I've seen thousands of posts over the years on Demonland of people that are so sure of themselves,in trade, period, drafting etc. etc..

A lot turned out to be wrong, as you may be and as I may be.....so what?

I'm not the first person to hope we snare a big fish ,and if we don't ,life goes on.

I know how things work, I've been witness to the inner workings of the AFL at close quarters, and let me tell you that they ain't run by newspapers, journalists and fan bloggers.

Anything can happen.

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Megg

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.
