He does some really good things for the Bulldogs, he has a really quick turn of speed and often finds space out the back of the packs, but his disposal is average for the most part.

I dont see him adding major improvement to our forward half, but that said would increase the strength of our list overall.

Taller skinnier Jack Watts.

Watts is taller.

If we get Jarrad Grant, can we please get Liam Jones too? Oh please can we can we?

Do the people starting these threads watch football?

Maybe it's also the same people that reckon Jon Butcher would be a good addition to the side..turn it up.

Does some ok things but wouldn't have him on my radar.

Didn't he kick three first quarter goals in a game this year....oh wait a minute....

This is getting beyond the joke now... every single player that is delisted someone is silly enough to start a thread about us having a look.

FMD if we are gonna trade out Watts wouldn't it be ironic if we then went and pick up this spud!

Now please this is getting silly. I'll support Watts because he's a dee. But i'm not so blind as to not see his weaknesses. Recruiting a player with the same weaknesses (and a couple of others besides eg poor disposal) would test my ability to fully support MFC players (though i have to admit other recent imports, notably Dawes have tested that abilty - i even broke my rule and let out an exasperated "Dawes" yell at the footy this year - though fortunately i stopped short of calling him a spud)

Don't like him, a poor mans Watts.

If we get rid of Watts and Howe and recruit duds like Grant and Melksham I will be extremely disappointed.

A lot of water to go under the bridge yet, and to tell the truth no one has a clue what's really going on behind the scenes.

Still hoping we land that big fish midfielder.

Jarred Grant's playing style epitomises all that we're trying to rid ourselves of as a club.

Not a hope in hell would I imagine we'd be interested.

One of the first times for a while that I agree with you Steve!

We've already got Watts, we have ZERO need for a player like Jarrad Grant.

The only real basis for recruiting him is that his name starts with 'J'.

I believe there's a secret priority pick clause where if you can bring your team to more than 50% starting with the same letter, you get a bonus pick every year to use on the best available draftee with that letter. Would be a handy bonus and we're nearly there.

Melksham, Taylor, Grant... there's a definite theme of players who main attribute is their first initial.

If it was a case of getting these players on low contracts for almost no trade cost, on the mutual understanding that they might quickly be just depth players and aren't guaranteed games, sure, we've got list space and do need depth.

There is always the possibility that these players can be fired up - remembering that under Paul Roos Sydney became famous for turning recycled ordinary players into valuable contributors.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
