Round 21 (Non MFC Games)

Just normal Hawthorn stuff. ( part of the early training I suspect is the kneedrop, coathanger, professional corkee and elbow slam.)

Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis, Lake - these guys are, at their core, dirty players. Each has a nasty streak, each likes to be overly aggressive. Hiding behind the strength that is their super team (and I'm not criticising their abilities, each is an A-grade superstar), when the team is winning they don't have to be emotional or involved, the win will come. But when they need to fire up to get the team fired up, things like this happen.

Hodge's was an intentional bump to a player's head, in circumstances where he had the time and ability to decide what he wanted to do, and elected to bump. That should be a minimum of 4 weeks on the sidelines, including any so-called 'guilty plea'. This is the kind of act we should be trying to stamp out of the game.

The problem is, Wingard played on. The MRP could well say the impact was 'low'. According to the rules, an intentional bump to a players head, if the impact is low, is worth a 2 week suspension, down to 1 with a guilty plea. Ridiculous.

you forgot to add the penalty loading for it being a second offence in same year

GWS losing today should mean they'll be out of finals contention by the time they play us in Round 23.

Could give some meaning to the Round 23 game - with nobody watching or caring, could give us a chance to get a win at Etihad and start 2016 without that ridiculous hoodoo hanging over us.

Wow. That is the first time i have viewedthat Bump

HODGE PREMEDITATED THUGGERY

6 weeks

the end

Agree 100% - I don't like that look of intent on his face. Could have broken Wingard's neck. The highest possible penalty should apply.

So GWS lost by almost 90 points against an understrength Swans team. Couldn't be tanking.

Would be the first time any team had tanked themselves out of the finals contention!

But, I guess they realised that playing us at Etihad was going to end their chances anyway.

Geez, Saints are bloody impressive. 4 goals in the opening 5 minutes of versus Geelong.

Wowee. They've definitely assembled an impressive young list over the last few drafts.

When they beat Geelong down at Geelong I will be impressed.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
