Tom Lynch (Adelaide Crows)

if we can get him, i say go for it.

today is the perfect example of what a tall and mobile forward set up can achieve - unfortunately it just wasn't for us!

a forward line of:

HF: Watts - Dawes - Kent

F: Lynch - Hogan - Garlett

would be a tough match up for most sides.

with subs gone next year and rotations likely to be limited to 10 in-quarter, athletic tall forwards who compete will be vitally important in terms of ball movement as kicks to contests will become more and more the norm.

one can only hope - have you heard this as fact from somewhere, or speculative?

So Matthew Bate 2.0? Red hair, to small for a key position, to slow to be a midfielder, but better mark..

I have seen Lynch make a turn within the radius of the 50 m arc, which sets him apart really.

26 disposls 10 marks and kicked 2.1 yesterday.

He is exactly what we need. His work rate Is phenomenal and he just continues to prove why we need that high half forward who works up and back on the ground.

He was just on the channel 9 footy show this morning. When asked if he wants to stay at the Crows he said yes, with a sheepish look on his face. Seems he will likely be leaving at the end of the year.

Yeah he looked uncomfortable saying that.

Somehow I doubt that we'd recruit both of Lynch & Tomlinson.

Very happy to do so however.

Lynch for a 2nd rounder, Tomlinson for Howe and our 1st rounder for an A+ mid?

Not sure.

Maybe we'll venture as far as selling a future pick this year.

I agree. I think Lynch and Tomlinson are very similar players but they are also very versatile and would both be able to play in our team.

Tomlinson has struggled a little bit with injuries which may lower his trade value.

Our team is crying out for running, marking players.

shocking year for football.

definitely want lynch. the idea of he and tomlinson coming in - preferably with the rumoured a+ mid joining too - then we're looking like a far more competitive side in the long-term.

I would be happy to pick both up, I doubt we will get the A+ mid though. I don't see who is available that are realistic gets for us.

Did I miss a rumor linking Tomlinson to us or does he just have a number of fans here? Not saying he wouldn't be a good pickup, but just noticed his name has come up a bit here lately.

His name has popped up last year and has continued this year. He is contracted and has stated that he wants to stay at GWS.

I dont think there is any rumours apart from him being Tyson's best mate.

I have mixed feelings about him. He hasnt been able to cement a spot in the team and has been played both forward and back without excelling in any position.

Great height and an extremely hard runner.

He's a great 3rd tall who runs hard and kicks goals. I really could not understand why people on here were saying no to trading for him. Would easily be worth a 2nd round pick in this year's draft. He's also been unlucky with injuries over the years. Last year he copped a Viney hit which we all remember and also fractured his neck against Brisbane (not soft tissue injuries which is good).

I wonder if we could get a package deal and include one of Mitch Grigg, Sam Kerridge or Matt Wright.

All three are pretty good players who can never break into the senior side but are always in the best for the SANFL.

I'd imagine on of them would be looking to leave for more opportunities and could come cheap.

I read on here that some are sick of picking up players that aren't getting a regular game ie Michie/Newton/Riley. As you said " if we can get them cheap", I would much rather try and fail with those types in the hope we find someone than persist with some of the crap people keep naming in the 22 for the week.

Your [censored] kidding me right?

I knew you were simple but i didn't think you would stoop this low..

But serious explain why the incident 'would want to make him play with Viney' instead of ill feeling towards him..

Let it go DazzleDavey...you completely missed the point that HH was making....obviously most opposition players would prefer to have Viney on their team than playing against him...because of how hard he goes in for the ball and hurts opposition players so often wit his tackling etc etc..anyways...

I really don't understand how people on D'Land can scoff at us picking up Tom Lynch?

The guy has 22 goals this season from 16 games. He is the perfect 3rd tall in the Jack Gunston mould. A forward line with the following would be extremely dangerous:

HF: Kent Hogan Petracca

F: Garlett XXXX Lynch

I put XXXX because I'm hoping that's who replaces Dawes as our 2nd tall, preferably a guy who is a genuiene ruck/fwd.

How many goals do you think Hogan would have kicked at Adelaide this year...?? 22 is modest.

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
