I too would love Michie to find a place in the side. Seems to have solid form in the twos, as he did in the west, but struggle at AFL level. He obvious racks up a lot of possessions for Casey and contributes as a midfielder, but can't seem to do either for us. Is it pace, awareness, hunger? I can't see hime fulfilling any other role in the side other than as a mid, as perhaps he is too slow to play down back.

Can anyone who has seen a good performance at Casey provide any insight?

Just watched the entire game, came to following conclusions:

- Grimes no longer has a future in the side. He was asked by the coaches to work on run out of the back line but does not have this skill and agree he lacks the awareness. His mistakes are morale destroying.

- Noticed Dawes being overlooked as a lead a number of times. His team mates no longer trust him and its the body language and way team mates interact with him that make it obvious his team mate don't rate him.

- Desperately need Frost or Peterson or backup ruck. Gawn most improved player but a long way off having the tank for a full game with this new intensity.

- A less predictable forward line crucial. Very clear that Watts team mates look to him for good delivery into forward lines but its very clear that Vince and Brayshaw are the best at delivering to the forwards

- Viney just doesn't let up all day long. A gem.

Yes, I noticed that also Clint but I fear he recognised the truth of the matter. "Thanks for your service and we wish you well for the future". Tough stuff but sadly it is the way of the world now - in all walks of life.

I haven't had the chance to watch the game yet as I was working yesterday, but I'd first like to say that Bernie Vince has been a sensational pick up and what's really great is that he's turned outstanding leader. When games have been in the balance, he is the one that seems to step up a gear and do what needs to be done. This is what Nate Jones has been needing for so long, someone else to carry the midfield in the important moments of games.

Good to see Jessie continuing his goal kicking ways, it appears next phase for him will be how to impact games even when he's not exactly playing well. Obviously this will come with time and experience.

Surprised at the lack of love for Garlett here. Got goals at crucial moments in the game and has seen to gotten a really good team ethic now and passes it off when needed. That was one of Micks biggest gripes with Jeffy so whateva Roos has done has been golden.

Just watched the replay and I have an apology to make. Chris Dawes was actually a very solid contributor. He wasn't perfect, but he played a lot better than I gave him credit for. I'm sorry, Chris.

He's such a smart footballer and quickly becoming an important leader at the club too.

Yeah i just watched it too and the backline quartet of McDonald-Dunn-Jetta-Garland was unbelievable

Seedsman or Michie?

Just finished watching the replay.

Tyson has his limitations this year but is still working very hard for the team.

I checked the stats with 2 minutes to go, thinking he'd had about 6 tackles, he ended up with 9. Watching the game live I thought he was quiet, but he played brilliantly.

This wasnt the same Collingwood we played on QB but it was still a win and a win that showed we are finally "getting" bits/pieces/parts of what the modern game is all about (and has been for a decade or so now).

Decent pressure when the ball hits the ground inside 50

Multiple targets on the lead (in diff spread patterns) coming i50

Hitting up some of those targets more often from just outside the paint

A KPF playing higher up the ground at times, occasionally 2, leaving space behind for the deep smalls or KPF to lead into or run onto when it gets over the back

Creating a solid def wall/press when the ball was in our 50

Playing on and running together in waves/moving the ball quickly when opportunities arose, especially off HB and just outside HF to get the ball into one on ones more often inside 50 and allow time/space to hit up leads.

Capitalising on overlap opportunities as a result of the above. Can't recall the last time we kicked so many goals by doing this in the one match. Have seen it on the odd occasion in the past few years but this match was a turning point for me. We are still learning how to score given we hardly have in recent past but seemed to be "getting it" in this match. Of course there was last week so who knows what we'll deliver next week but I remain hopeful amd fairly optimistic that we will finally crack it for back to back wins for first time in a long time (2011 I think)

Fingers crossed. Most pleasing four quarter "effort/commitment/team" game I've seen so far under Roos that actually had us putting a solid score on board against a reasonable (albeit somewhat undermanned) opponent. Other than Michie who was a tad too quiet, we had contributors allover the ground.

Lets hope we can keep up with the total team defence/attack method this week for a long overdue 2 in a row
