Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jones - Pay check game ( Just went, looking for receives a lot, some hospital handballs to teammates.)

Dunn - Reliable and confident ( Average for mine)

Hogan - A football lesson ( Looked to drop the bundle again. When the going gets tuff... Stern words needed.)

Watts - Buckled under pressure ( Ok ish but error riddled. Did try.)

Dawes - Presented but fumbled ( Got no idea about this bloke)

Viney - Just like daddy (Yep)

Lumumba - Erratic and indecisive ( Need to watch replay, didn't stand out)

Brayshaw - Superior work rate ( ok and wins one on ones)

Gawn - Solid ruck work (Yep)

Tyson - Out of form ( Run in the seconds needed)

Stretch - Promising but tired ( Kid , shown a bit, now a rest)

Cross - Slow but required ( Nup. Afraid he's close to cooked. Good heart, legs cant keep up)

Garland - Soundly, empathically beaten ( Emotionally tough one. But he was poor)

Michie - Another Michie classic ( 9 possessions in a quarter is good and he was ok)

Vince - Tries but fades ( Didn't impose himself on the contest, but not the worst)

McDonald - Out of position ( I thought he went ok)

Grimes - Dear God no ( That's tough, wasn't our worst)

Garlett - Lacked defensive urgency ( Quiet)

Howe - Went through motions ( Ok ish)

Jetta - Constantly missed targets ( Tried his guts out, wasn't good but kept going. One a few who can run)

vandenBerg - Out of touch- ( Either injured or slow and found out)

Harms -Promising yet uninspiring ( Tried but not ready)

Id say Dawes, lumumba and a few others actually hurt us today - as in their contributions generally made us worse. Vince looked knackered as did vanders, jones and Tyson.

when we beat geelong we shut up shop for the year.

Dunn - was rarely beaten was fair

Hogan - terrible body language stopped leading and was more worried with where opponent was

Watts - poor decision making looked slow, needs to go to first option

Dawes - provided no target tried but not worth what he is paid, first three kicks turnovers and then a crap 50m penalty

Viney - heart and soul bog

Lumumba - some occasional bursts a bit too predictable when he has it.

Brayshaw - had no zip tired

Gawn - great first half tried but not his best

Tyson - no spatial awareness ok

Stretch - needs a break looked like a boy playing against men, another preseason or two needed

Cross - slow decision making tried hard, getting older

Michie - has no tricks little impact when subbed on

Vince - continued extraordinary resurgence pass mark

McDonald - some dumb decisions leave in defence shouldve been on Rooey

Surprised with the view that Watts had a poor game. Was able to find the ball and generally created space with handballs and used it really well when he had space by foot.

Our team generally didn't cope with St Kilda's pressure and too many stationary targets receiving handballs.

Our game breaks down because we turn the ball over causing players to work extra hard to try to win the ball back. Offensively our players lose confidence in teammates and stop presenting making it even harder to find targets resulting in even more turnovers.

The 2nd and 4th qtrs showed where we put pressure on St Kilda and were able to expose their ball movement. We did it for 2 qtrs and they did it for 4.

Jones - same old same- amazed he's not a psych case

Dunn - was rarely beaten- usually under siege because of turnovers

Hogan - terrible body language- still a bit to learn

Watts - poor decision making- was time to go five years ago. Melbourne's biggest failed experiment ever and to continue with this is the ultimate stupidity. Anyone keeping this player on our list should be sacked.

Dawes - provided no target- tries hard but just seems not up to it

Viney - heart and soul- fantastic

Lumumba - some occasional bursts- failed experiment bom bomb

Brayshaw - had no zip- finally we have a player

Gawn - great first half- doing well

Tyson - no spatial awareness- reminds me of Jekyl and Hyde

Stretch - needs a break- Looks like a player

Cross - slow decision making- warrior

Garland - was he playing?- has little impact

Michie - has no tricks- don't like the sub rule would like to see more of him before deciding

Vince - continued extraordinary resurgence

McDonald - some dumb decisions- he's a back man, Paul!

Grimes - repeated same mistakes- I've seen a lot worse from him and thought he did okay today but this should be his final season

Garlett - was totally smothered- should always play on and run to difficult angles when taking set shots

Howe - took easy options- Im sure he's coached to take these stupid easy options instead of just playing on instinct, thats what Paul does to players he over coaches them

Jetta - horrible decision making- put under the bus with hospital handballs

vandenBerg - successive poor games- he's earned some time

Harmes - hasn't shown much- give him another go

Im drinking again :(

Roos. "Habits are playing on a man and beating him." Hard to argue against that. His other major problems, tackle count and contested possessions. i.e Midfield, forward line.

I could drop 5-6 players after that rubbish.

Harmes Jetta Watts Tyson Vandenburg Dawes... but who comes in ???

Watts and Jetta put in, made a few mistakes but so did everybody, no way they deserved to be dropped or maybe its automatic when [censored] off you just type Watts name in?

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
