I usually pre-empt my posts with 'I rarely post" however, some of the comments on here, particularly this thread border on the ridiculous. Leigh Matthews said yesterday that the BIGGEST problem facing clubs is lack of inside fifties and then scoring from those inside fifties. We won the inside fifty count and just kicked badly. We have won games in the last two years where the opposition kicked badly, had many more inside fifties and lost - Essendon being the classic example in 2014.

Twenty five shots at goal not counting two or three out on the full is good. What lost us the game was really poor forward pressure and poor forward set up. No changes for mine. Unless some of the youngsters are battered and bruised, keep the team as is.

Generally I think the selectors have dropped the ball this year. They don't think about match ups properly. Many here said the height of Daniher would be a problem and felt Fitz would be a good selection.

And so it was, the difference between the 2 sides.

As for the kicking what can you say? It has been a problem for years now and hasn't changed.

I'm not sure that Roos has any answers or the fire in the belly needed.

All sides are susceptible to players marking around the 50m arc because it's a wider area at most grounds and defensively you generally peel off to make sure your zone defence inside 50 is covered.

What brought us unstuck, as it did against Pies, is that Daniher and Cloke both nailed shots from outside the 50m arc - a bit like how Neiter used to do it and very hard to stop.

Having said that I expect that Fitzy will come in this week because the resting Martin/Leuenberger will be ideal for him.

But it's a case of horses for courses - I don't think Fitzy would cope with Riewoldt's mobility the following week for example.

If Howe is suspended, it's an easy swap with Tom Mc sent forward early to stretch their small defence.

The other two changes should be Stretch and Neal-Bullen - who just need another couple of weeks back in VFL winning the ball before their next recall.

Harmes deserves another go - albeit as the sub this time.

As to who comes in, I suggest we wait and see who presents themsleles as a must after the VFL game.

In junior footy Tommy Mac played Ruck/Fwd pocket. Cn he do it for a few weeks at AFL level, so a Fitzy can play back?

He also gave big Max a chop out at Casey for a bit there, so he can do it.

Apart from one complication, in my mind the changes are quite simple. Gawn needs help so in comes another tall. Stretch, Harmes and ANB all added very little so any of them could be demoted. On balance, given it was Harmes' first game, I'd omit Stretch and ANB first, and Hames if another is needed.

The complication is the second ruck position. The question in my mind is whether Tom McDonald can do a Blicavs and be the second ruckman/ ruck rover and a bit forward. For that to happen, we need another tall defender, so Fitzpatrick seems the choice, at least until Frost is back on the park.

My changes:

In: Grimes, Fitzpatrick (if McDonald rucks) or Spencer (if McDonald stays back), Toumpas

Out: Stretch, ANB, Harmes. (If Howe is suspended, and let's be honest, it's a lottery so none of us know whether he will or won't be), then Harmes should stay.

Danger game implies we expect to win. That's a frankly ludicrous expectation. Brisbane will be rubbing their hands together at the prospect of playing us. We are currently the most beatable team in the AFL, and everybody knows it. As for St. Kilda the week after, they will thump us.

FFS, Brisbane are at the bottom of the ladder. We've won twice as many games as them AND it's our home game. One loss and we're back to Fitzroy-level bad are we? Good old Demonland. We should win, but Brisbane have good recent history against us.

I know he was injured don't worry about the picture book I understand but here without the picture book I'll keep it simple , you had a shot at someone on here earlier for discussing changes before Casey played, from memory it was along the lines of posting changes before Casey played well it is a forum and they are free to discuss as they like, my first post was merely pointing out to you that players can still be named whether Casey have played or not, but that went over your head. And don't bother replying because I don't want to affect the other Demonlanders having to trawl through more pages of you getting into ridiculous arguments over trivial matters
