AFL Round 12 - Non MFC Games

The incredible fall from grace by Port this year could perhaps raise questions as to whether there was perhaps "something unusual" they had been taking last year??

More likely their gameplan has just been found out, and teams have flooded the right areas of the ground to prevent their run.

Who is this guy at Footscray who by half time had 7 disposals 2 marks 2 tackles 3 goals

Could it be their great saviour who was subbed off at half time vs Tom McDonald with one touch?

There has been a pattern this year of sides that charge out of the gate early at

this stage of the season. Port, GWS, Essendon and to a lesser extent Freo are not doing so well at the moment. This is going to be a stayers season.

Not sure if anyone is watching the "blockbuster" tonight, but the Bulldogs are getting everything from the umps tonight. Feel horrible for the hapless Lions.

Boyd is miles off the pace right now. Has kicked 3 goals tonight; 2 were from laughably soft free kicks, the other from standing in the goal square while his teammate won the hardball for him. He also nearly botched it when he fumbled it with his hands a metre from goal.

Apparently he was disgusted at being subbed last week; he need only look in the mirror to see why.

Saw the first half, and I agree on all points.

It's all relative I guess.

According to Luke "Impartial" Darcy, we can look forward to him being the player that "improves with each and every game."

Well he can't get any worse than 1 disposal and subbed off, can he!?!

So good to hear BT cementing his position as the worst commentator in sport but constantly referring to Jake Stringer as 'The Package'. He is having a competition with himself to see how often he can say it in a sentence. His best is 5 at the minute.

Geez BT is an absolute nut job.

He likes the sound of his own voice and repeating the same shitz over and over and over again. Jake "THE PACKAGE" Stringer.

The most annoying commentator ATM.

Shut the fart up.

I'd feel ill if I was a Brisbane supporter, with the commentators fawning over every Bulldogs player and barely mentioning the Lions at all.

With BT fawning over 'The Total Package' Lex Luger and Darcy loving every minute of his old side playing tonight it's not surprising the Lions aren't getting a mention.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
