Suprised by Mckenzie but guess he'll get a run with role... Who does the green vest go to ? From

The bench dont like it on anyone, Mckenzie would be the 22nd picked but his not gonna be the sub. Maybe JKH ?

Posted

Very surprising imo. One thing seems certain to me, Jordie would be ineffective as sub. so the intention must be for him to lock down on one of their mids (Neale?). Time for you to get in the votes Jordie!

While I agree with Roos that Kent helped turn the game last week, he's hardly been lighting it up with possessions. If McKenzie can come in and do the defensive forward role that Kent has been doing, it might not be so bad.

Record number of team tackles in one game coming up.

Given it a bit more thought, hasn't Mckenzie been playing down back ? Reckon he might lockdown on Ballantyne

Defensive forward ...... bloke misses them from 15m and cant kick them from outside 40m.

Tagger is all.

Don't rate this at all but good luck to him all the same.

If nothing else it shows that if you play consistently well in the 2nds you will be rewarded and that is a good thing for the culture of the club.

i dont understand the problem, on the positive he's a great tagger & tackler, on the negative his disposal has been as bad as half our side for the majority of there careers, would we gain better disposal from who

Jordie McKenzie. Against Fremantle. Good Lord, what a backwards step.

The most backward step since John "Diamond Jim Tillbrook" was banished to the reserves playing... Full Back!

FFS REALLY!??

Roos clearly has a plan for Jordie, i'd be pretty worried if Jordie started as the sub and there wasn't a clear plan, Riley has been in good nick and would probably have offered more, although Jordie could lock down on Neale or Mundy maybe

MAYBEE?? a BLOODY BIG ENORMOUS MAYBEE!!

So playing the shockers with 17 men!? Great strategy

A lot of people on this site have praised Roos and his team for the development of a hard game plan and for the development of the players. Yet here we are not giving one of our players a chance to show how he might have developed under Roos. He is a player that has shown a willingness to give 100% on the ground for the team. He has had a few good games at Casey and Roos has selected him for this match most likely to do a particular job.

I will wait and see how he performs and then critique rather than write him off the way many on here have.

Grimes is in a similar position.

I keep reading//hearing that Grimes/McKenzie are being rewarded for their efforts at Casey. Let's not loose sight that if not for injurys they wouldn't be in the side at all.

The other option was to bring in some classy offensive players and have a runaway victory. so if the 22nd player picked is not best afield we should Delist him and sack Roos.

I see why you're so shocked, i mean clearly Jimmy Toumpas was the obvious choice :P

I'll alway love Jordie for his critical role in the play last year against the Bombers that got us that last goal. Always!

Big heart, hard at it, good hands,...

Make them hurt Jordie!!!

Go Dees!

In other words - that's exactly what you have depth players for!! (loose injurys)

So what's your alternative?

Well done Jack Grimes for finding your way back into the team after four games.

Shows class and he will be hungry to cement his spot.

Same with Jordie.

Its always great when we know better than Roos, Goodwin, McCartney and co. Who are our options for Ballantyne and Walters? Who will lock onto a mid if Bernie cant shutdown Fyfe or if someone else gets off the chain? He would have been my third choice but as long as he is not the sub I can see the logic and will back the decision and the player in.

Neale seriously struggled with a tag last week after being one of the form players in the comp in the first few weeks, i think that's the logic, Bernie will keep fyfe accountable, and do what he can to minimize his influence

the ones i'm worried about are Hill and Pierce, i'm not sure we have the speed to go with them

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
