Sitting here with about sixty odd Demon faithful at Manuka Oval.

Peter Jackson and Glen Bartlett have just arrived and we're waiting for the boys to come out.

What drills are PJ and Bartlett doing?

According to one source, their skill level has improved over the preseason. But because neither will speak to the source over the fence, they have yet to be mentioned in any of the training reports to date.

Just got back from the session myself, dragged wife and kids (8 and 5) along.

Not too much to report as Jako said:

- they were out 8 minutes late which was a bit outrageous but gave us time to get a photo of PJ with the kids. Asked him for a guns shot...no dice.

- they jogged a half lap and did about 5 minutes of stretches and then some kick-to-kick followed by shots at goal.

The highlight for us was the players wandering around the fence signing autographs and handing out team posters ... kids got autograph book, footy and cap signed and were absolutely thrilled (not to mention awestruck). They both got their faves: Jeremy Howe for the daughter and Angus Brayshaw for the boy (his namesake). Pretty simple stuff but certainly made a huge impression with the kids, credit to the club.

Will load a few pics shortly, fair to say as a family we're pumped for tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I've already been warned about not setting a bad example to the kids $cully-wise.

The ground looks in good nick. I expected it to be heavier after 63mm of rain in Canberra on Monday/Tuesday. The centre square was still covered today, so not sure what it will be like tomorrow.

The weather forecast is perfect ... 22 degrees, patchy cloud and light winds.

As Jako said, not a lot to report from a training perspective. Just an extremely light session to loosen up after the travel and get a feel for the ground.

The only structured component was a series of stretches conducted by Misso. Nonetheless, I got the impression that the players were really up for tomorrow. Lots of banter, back slapping and high fives, and the skills (about 15% intensity) were crisp and clean (as you would hope).

I tried to keep an eye on Vince and Dawes, and didn't see any fumbles or dropped marks. Dawes set shots from 40 to 50 metres were spot on most of the time. H looked fantastic in everything he did .... so sharp. Crossy (as expected) was the last one to leave the track. Some solid tackling, one-on-one with Goody, who still has good evasive skills.

The players were very friendly and spent lots of time lining up for photos and autographs sought by the Demon faithful.

Well done MFC!

Disappointed PJ wasn't up for a guns shot Ken. Please try harder next time ;)

Hope your kids have a great day tomorrow yelling at $culldog!

PS. Get your fill of beer and wine before quarter time as BBO and his missus will drink the entire ACT dry shortly after.

Should have mentioned that Vanders had his own personal cheer squad to welcome him back to Manuka (mostly former Ainslie team-mates I suspect). He seemed really excited and lapped up the attention.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
