So yes, if you want to be technical, I will change my phrasing from "poor record keeping" to "no record keeping".

My thoughts are more in line with yours than most other demonlanders but there is not a snow flakes chance in hell their were no records. It is more a case of who made them disappear as to how guilty Essendon are imho. A big issue for me in all of this is they almost certainly would still be around if Demetriou didn't tip them off. What happened from there is anybody's guess. Wouldn't surprise me if Demetriou ordered they be destroyed himself. Dank and Charter hardly seem the types that would have a moral problem destroying them either. Hird, Bomba "I don't have a lemonade or fanta problem" Thompson or any number of them on the board might or might not be involved.

It still amazes me that the AFL's forensic experts turned up nothing on the confiscated computers. I am more suspicious of that than a predetermined ASADA outcome through the AFL's panel.

As several posters have said, it defies belief that any program as described in Ziggy's report would not keep records in this professional scientific age. So their absence now is more than highly suspicious.

You have a lot of respect here Ash, as does my mate who has given away supporting EFC and AFL. Don't know what will bring him back, but I suspect a clearing out of Hird and co would satisfy him. He'd probably forgive the players assuming they were duped of pressured -maybe even if they were individual drug cheats. But the admin, never.

I've always had the opinion that he is a 'good to ok' coach, but not a great coach.

We are really struggling at the moment, and I don't think he has the answers.

We seem to play [or at least qualify] for finals most years under him, but we have become stagnant.

Haven't won a final since 2004.

I would struggle to name 5 players on our list that have shown real improvement outside of natural development since Hird took over.

The players do play for him though. Many players have said that they love playing for him.

But in the end, that will only get you so far.

I think our recruiting policy over in the off season was questionable.

Getting Cooney and Gwilt were moves of a club that thinks they were close to challenging.

I really don't think we are that close.

We were 5 goals up against North in the Elimination final last year, maybe should have been further up, but either way, frustratingly lost that final.

Geelong were ripe for the picking the next week so with a bit of luck, we could have been in a Preliminary Final.

Perhaps the club looked at it that way.

Maybe Hird felt pressure that he couldn't "comeback" as coach and the team go backwards.

Our lack of scoring potency is a real worry.

Our forward line is reliant on a 20 year old with potential (Daniher) and a defender (Carlisle).

Zero small forward presence with Winderlich and Kommer always injured.

Thank god we recruited Chapman.

But that is the test of a coaches ability, manufacturing a game plan that works when you don't have your full compliment of players.

He has failed that test so far this year.

WADA are possibly going to be hamstrung by the same issues that ASADA had ...

Witnesses won't talk, all records destroyed, players denying any wrongdoing, a governing body wanting to protect the brand and all the money etc etc

Somehow all that is ASADA or WADA's fault ... and they are the good guys!

I agree and that's why it's so difficult to understand the tribunal decision - well, it's not that difficult if one is to take a cynical view.

So, which way are WADA going to go? Appeal or no appeal?

If the information is right and WADA have enough to nail the Bombers through the CAS, then you'd reckon they're obligated to appeal.

So it's an appeal from WADA for me but not with any real confidence at all.
