Still does not alter the fact that they got Howe and we ended up with Kennedy.

We got the poorer of the two.

thats not the full story though is it Old...cmon....apples etc

He is very, very, very lazy footballer who gets by with talent.

It easy to be sucked in with these types of players as i remember thinking few years back that with his skill set he could play in the middle or run with if he had a "Big Preseason".... Pigs might fly...

I am a little slow tonight bb what are you saying?

Ben Kennedy should have played on the weekend. Wet weather football for the perfect small who has teamed up with Garlett and Kent to be a solid contributor.

Poor selection which unfortunately means he won't play this weekend due to Garlett coming back.

I must have missed his best games then dc, in the ones I have seen his good games have been a quarter then next to zip for the balance of the game.

Kennedy has averaged 17.3 disposals a game 3.1 marks 0.9 goals 2.6 tackles

Howe has averaged     19.0 disposals a game 6.9 marks 0.2 goals 2.6 tackles

There's not a lot in it, so we haven't lost and we don't have a player that only plays on his terms, I don't see where we would play Howe this year. He doesn't provide run and he doesn't have a great football brain.

I am just as uncertain where we play Kennedy Dante.

Why wasn't he played in place of Garlett?

Seems the FD don't have much confidence in him either in spite of big numbers at Casey.

BenKen got dropped earlier this year and played a great game at Casey, he was promoted the following week and didn't perform all that well in the following weeks. I think they may be telling him that he needs to be more consistent and not just play the odd good game.

He will be ok and I'd imagine they'd play him as a small forward, maybe a stint in the middle.

Small sample (only watched three Pies games this year) however Howe was very poor in each of them.  Atrocious at kicking in.

Too small a sample evidently. His kicking has been one of his real strengths this season. That's one thing that's a little annoying when I think back to the grubbers and floaters that were coming off his boot last season.

If you actually had a look at the three way trade with coll-Melb-port you would see we ended up with Kennedy and a pick which ended up (through a pick exchange with Gold Coast) giving us the pick we traded for Bugg. So Ben Ken and Bugg and pick 50 for Howe, Toumpass and pick 64. Which,over the next few years, will be a win for us

Unfortunately he was the same at Collingwood. Some strong performances in the VFL, comes up to AFL then back down again.

I think that we picked up a couple of depth players...not sure if that's a win or not.

Nope. He's a required player. For the MFC.

Seen nothing yet to suggest he is more than a very good Casey player RB.He is the SKK for me.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
