The Banner

Elusive Tunbridge

Just throwing a slab of raw meat into the wolverines' pen.

I understand we'll be restoring the banner to its usual format in the new year. I guess Roosy and Chunky will be up there, and I'd like to see the Russian and Jack G as well. Who else should get a spot?

I have an idea:

We leave it how it is until the season stars. Then with every win we add a person to the banner. It can be based on how overall deserving they were or it can be if they are best on ground and a key part of winning that game.

Then as the season goes on hopefully we have lots of faces on the banner.

Each week after the win we decided who goes on it via a poll? Selections by best players on the field not already on the banner.

Cant see any reason to puts Jones up there.

The banner will be changing at some point prior to or just after the seasons starts. I haven't given too much thought into who will be on it and it will all depend on whether I can source high quality recent images of players. I will attempt to include Jimmy and Robbie in it somehow. No promises.

Robbie at one end and Jimmy at the other.

I'd keep Robbie, put Jimmy on the other end and have Jones, Tyson,Roos, Viney and Hogan in the middle

I like both of those.

R Flower looks just fine to me

Sets the standard for all those below his consistent ability...

thats a standard worth something, one that truly means something

the Jumper is everything for those who love it, & not so much themselves.

the Culture follows leaders like tulip. let the others fight to get on the banner, no more babies on there. they should have to earn it thru blood, sweat, & years.

I'd like to see Robbie's face up there for the rest of my Demonland viewing life and as an idea the top 5 from the previous years B&F.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
