This has to be your best post ever.

Horse racing is a spectacle for people but it ruins the lives of horses.

Horse racing actually prolongs the life of about 99% of thoroughbreds.

People would know that if they knew anything about horseracing.

Dressage horses can fracture a leg and be put down as well, should that be banned too?

So if they are treated like a family member its still ok for someone to tweet a seriously poor joke about that 'family member'

I don't think the person who has trained and spent long hour with it will see the funny side in Bernies tweet..

I can't believe that anyone would lose any sleep over what a drunken, yobbo footballer would tweet about a horse.

The bloke makes a slightly insensitive remark about a horse after a million beers and the politically correct do-gooders find someone to pay out on for 24 hours. Get a life.

There's funny...there's clever...and theres stupidity

Ill give yo u5 mins to figure out which of the above applies to Bernie in this respect.

The club has shown its not impressed by 'poor taste' efforts. Did Bernie not take any notice of the "Rolf" episode

Theres joking between mates...all fun and games ...yeah...and then theres putting it out to the ...well ...world !!!

smart move Bernie

I think Bernie will cop it in the neck over this. Yes, he should have known better. But gees I get frustrated at the over-sensitised, politically correct society we live in today.

Yeah but the point is these guys are right in the heart of it. It just amazes me that they cannot think!

in some ways I agree...its all too 'prissy" but he needs to pick his audience...he got it slightly wrong.

There'll be lots of jokes about lots of things that are humouress in context and situation....that dont translate well to the larger 'social media " format.

It seems like a lot of these Twits...dont realise the implications of not understanding whats required.

Yeah, I get the feeling Bernie will wake up with a sore head, a significantly lighter wallet and very much damaged pride in the morning.

I get frustrated by that too, i was banned here for 2 weeks recently for correctly saying that religion should be mocked and ridiculed

I think what annoys me about Bernies post though is that its making fun of an innocent animal that died because it was forced to race against its will by humans

I cant stand cruelty to animals

Debate about horse racing aside you would hope that players would understand now what they are and aren't going to get flogged for by the media for saying. Obviously not. Hopefully he'll get away with this because there's a lot of other big news on.

It amazes me that an experienced AFL footballer (or any sort of personality for that matter) would not know the dangers and implications of saying anything that could be considered even remotely controversial on social media.

These guys can be bloody thick.

Yeh but they play football not solve theoretical physics equations

I don't understand what the point was in mentioning religion, in a thread about Bernie Vince's comment about a diseased horse.

We are not talking astrophysics. If you are a public figure either be careful what you say or keep your mouth shut. An ill considered comment can bring the world down on you. I believe these guys do receive media traini9ng - I'd be reviewing the provider.

Couldn't care if the whole field of horses fell over and died. Gambling and drugs are a blight on our society and bring out the worst in our human race.

Can imagine you would be a pleasure to be around?

It's quite simple Bernie. Keep it verbal and among friends with a similar mindset. Don't tweet it to the world where lots of people have not been on the same binge or are not on the same wavelength as you.

This site is a fair microcosm of society. Some good folk and some absolute f flogs. Have a look at the photos of the devestated connections of that magnificent horse admire ratki and then justify Vince's moronic comments.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
