I wonder if the Bombers have their own version of Matt Burgan. He will need to be debriefed prior to interviews with Neeldy. I was always worried he was going to jump the desk and bite Burgo's face off ala Hannibal Lecter during those interviews!

Give me a break guys, talk about looking in the rear-vision mirror and hitting the tree.

I can tell you from a personal level, Neeld was out of his depth 1 month in at this club - he personally told me. If you think that the win/loss impact of Roos (who according to the associated avatars on this forum has more nous than any coach going around) was $equivalently different from what Mark Neeld delivered, then shoot me down. The guy had his reputation, his career and his income smashed in the experience at MFC and just for your info, he was on pretty low $. Maybe that's all he deserved I hear you saying.....get a life, move on and leave the poor bloke alone. If you want to blast me, maybe focus the replies on Lyon and co who decided he was the man for the job.

I'm out, you guys are a pack of rabid drifters - and if you need to learn the definition of a drifter, read some Napoleon Hill

I don't think there were too many complaints about Neeld the assistant coach, which is effectively what he will be (if this is true).

I've got no problem with that and good luck to him. He wont get (or want) another senior coaching gig, nor should he.

If it doesn't work out and the bummers go backwards, even better.

Is there a bit of a pattern developing maybe, with the appointment of disciplinarians as development coaches?

I think this is a good appointment. Yes he failed as senior coach but was a good assistant and there's no reason he can't go back to being one. He was out of his depth in our mess and it's taken a couple of years and still counting for us to unravel it.

He was hit by more than the reality bus when he was at Melbourne. Good luck to him.

Give me a break part 2

This bloke took on the job, he thought he had the goods and he was found to be an absolute shocker. In fact he may go down as the worst coach ever of the MFC.

As much as I think Lyon and others stuffed up in recommending him, this bloke thought he was God's gift to coaching! Ask some of the players about his people management!!

It was very poor indeed ! Nup don't paint him as anything else than a woulda, shoulda, coulda!! Our gain at not having him around is exquisitely Essendopes further sinking into the Abyss!

love it!

Good post. Most posters here sprinkle their narrative with some puerile reference to Neeld. Move on. Edited by jumbo returns

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
