Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

As exciting as landing a player of his calibre is, if Brayshaw and Petracca were there at picks two and three and they become bonafide Stars of the comp I'd be sick to the stomach.

And what if we hang onto the picks and they become the new Scully and Trengove? Or Sylvia and McLean? We can't afford to put all our faith in 17 year old kids again.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. Kennedy is a bonafide star in the prime of his career. Ideally we'd hang onto one of the top picks but to get quality you have to give quality.

They wont be only one will slip to 2 and then after that its pot luck this draft . Mind you pick 1 is no guarantee of a bonafide star of the competition.

Kennedy is a star, he will put us on the map as a destination.

This is an investment decision and shows Roos does not rate high picks.

I'd back in the club now to draft and develop the best talent from the draft, given the opportunity.

Stop referring to the past because it's absolutely irrelevant. The entire FD has changed as well as the list.

All I'm saying is, I'd be disappointed if we were giving up pick 2 and 3 for Kennedy.

Well we're still talking hypotheticals. We have no idea whether or not this is true so declaring that this proves Roos doesn't rate high draft picks makes no sense. Edited by stevethemanjordan

Its not just our past. It is a bit of a lottery for all teams. So the past is relevant. Doesn't mean it overrides everything else, but it is a factor.

MFC doesn't have time to wait on these rookies, action now for survival

Everyone, please get behind the club. The supporters need to stop feeling hard done by, its the supporters who also create a toxic culture. Roos and MFC have been bullish and decided to go all out to get it done.

Go Dees!!

P.s. St Kilda are going to take Petracca, the kid is a jet.

Picks 2 & 3 is way overs for Kennedy. Not even Judd was worth that.

Agree. 39 would get us Frost. So it's 2 and 3 for Kennedy and Frost.

That worries me greatly as we are effectively putting all our eggs in one basket for a 4 to 5 year player at best. If he was to get injured we would have wasted the draft this year again.

If another player was thrown in or we kept 2 for Brayshaw I would say that was good.

Can guarantee if we give them 2 and 3 the boys they take will be stars for 10 to 12 years.

I hope we can keep 2 in the deal if it is true.

I agree, if true.

What I dont get is that we go from woe is us we can't land a big fish to woe is us we pay overs for a big fish.

Let me speculate that the deal was 2 and 12 but that fell through, what do we do just give up?

Having Kennedy around to help develop Salem, Toumpas and dare i say Watts has to be worth the investment now when you consider picks 2 and 3 will only nett us one of Brayshaw or Petracca (although he will go at 1) and then a speculative forward. It will let Tyson and Jones run abit freer around the ball.

I think if true its a great result for the club.

I would love to get Kennedy, but in all honesty, if we are not ready to contend for a flag, then 2&3 is way overs. This would reak of being all about Roos. Not the club.

In all honesty, if we win 4 games again next year, would you expect that to appeal to Nathan Jones and other free agents? Nope.

With the changing landscape of the AFL, we need to become competitive, fast.

Finally a post with some actual critical thinking. These trades are not made lightly, MFC know what they are doing this time around. Good Post.

Doesn't cash come into it?

Dees offer a much bigger contract than Sydney can pay , Sydney respect his input say thanks and with their salary cap issues and emerging younger mids agree to trade with melbourne .They take pick 3 and little sweetener and in he comes.

I 100% agree. We need to win some games. Not just to get some momentum going or to keep fans happy. But also to be a club tat has some hope of attracting free agents and the new free agent - any player coming out of contract (or just plain unhappy players for that matter). The window of opportunity to do the old style rebuild has slammed shut. The time is now.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
