Do the crime, do the time. Regardless of whether the rules are stupid or not, he [censored] up and deserved a week. Useless as usual, the whole system is a farce.

he should never have been charged for that hit. the interpretation is just Soft. If he had of used the shoulder to Selwoods head whilst off the ground, then I'd say charge him but a body hit with an accidental head clash is the same as Jack Viney's MRP challenge.

IMO the right result has come down now.

i agree with you d-l

but it's not the same as jv incident. jv didn't attempt to bump he just braced himself for the inescapable contact. quite different, but he did have to prove that

Insufficient force and Selwoods testemony and medical records saying that he goes off with the blood rule so often and has so much scare tissue on his eyebrow that would cause it to bleed for way longer then a normal person. Well that's the jist of it anyway

Selwood's a regular Norman Gunston.

deebatable, IMO jack was in two minds as to what to do & the ball deviated at the last minute. same sort of accidental head contact, except jacks hit was harder.

So the head high impact in an off the ball, feet off ground that split Selwood's scalp was minimal impact - no suspension, yet Dawes' two gentle brushes with the arm, failing to draw blood, were medium ??????

The incompetence, inconsistency, and / or corruption of the MRP is just legendary.

What I will say is Selwood is a classy bloke. Sure, that both their coaches are brothers no doubt left him with no alternative but testify, but where was the testimony from what's his face during the Viney case? Didn't even release a statement.

Yeah, I know his jaw was broken and all... but accidents happen.

.... and so was The Tribunal before the MRP... the vfl/afl didn't want certain players to miss games, & the power clubs always won out over the weaker clubs; this is part of whats lead to the financial & fixturing inequities of today.

the AFL bending over to the power clubs instead of them forcing equality.

Nat Fyfe got 2 weeks.

Said to a mate on Sunday morning that AFL will get him off. North will use the well known Selwood weak eyebrow defence.

Well what do you know, rules on the run...

Another example of Evans making Anderson look good.

or take a more conspiracy approach and the whole scenario was setup to keep maximum publicity on the afl for the finals

I thoroughly dislike the little bugger, but I didn't feel the force justified him getting suspended despite the blood.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
